Right now in Buena Vista BCS it's over cast, plenty of thunder, had one short power outage. Looks like rain is coming but nothing yet
Dies anyone know about Cabo?

bajasuzie - 9-25-2012 at 01:38 PM

San Jose is overcast. No rain or thunder.

2PM MDT Tuesday

DavidE - 9-25-2012 at 01:41 PM

The state governments, have issued "Code Green" alerts for the storm. Low probability of damage. Every wind site I have been checking shows a decreasing level of wind for the Vizcaino peninsula; now down to "strong breeze" level of 35mph.

Let us hope for those days of "gentle rain showers" that I have been wishing for.

NWS calling for a "Post Tropical Depression" on Friday. Miriam is wandering westwards over cold water, and that is going to take a lot of the wind out of her sails.

Gentle rain showers sounds wonderful

shari - 9-25-2012 at 02:11 PM

I'm sure liking the 2:00 forecast that sees Miriam dancing more northbound and tiring out pretty quickly...I can relate to that! We can breath a bit easier now...the surfos will be stoked!

But that bugger come up behind her looks a bit threatening to you south capers.....

Todos Santos Status report:
Just 5 minutes ago: Heavy rain, lots of wind, rain coming down sideways. Thunder and lightening everywhere. Palm trees are bent. Electricity out.

Edited to say: TORRENTIAL RAIN. The noise from the thunder is deafening

Bill Collector - 9-25-2012 at 02:55 PM

Hang in there

Marie-Rose - 9-25-2012 at 03:20 PM

Just got one line from TS as well: "OMG... Wow"

If anyone has power or can keep us up to date... a bit worried about my friend's palapa roof:(

Bill Collector - 9-25-2012 at 03:37 PM

It's starting to rain here in Buena vista. Lots of thunder !!!! Gentle rain for now.

Katiejay99 - 9-25-2012 at 03:47 PM

Ok, that was decidedly UNFUN!!!!

The leading edge had high winds that stuck around for only about 20 minutes, then it died down. The rain has virtually stopped as of this moment. I can actually see blue skies. Still no electricity. The rain was coming down in torrents then it let up slowly until now.

The constant slamming and booming of thunder was quite unnerving.

That was a band I don't care to listen to again!

DavidE - 9-25-2012 at 04:07 PM

You can thank your nearby mountains for the floor show. Miriam is spinning off cloud bands six hundred miles from the action and they are headed east. Go to a local site like

http://www.eebmike.com

and look at the in-motion satellite images. You'll see the clouds flare up over the mountains. Tain't the hurricane. It's further away than San Lucas is from Guerrero Negro.

bajalinda - 9-25-2012 at 04:08 PM

The wind just really picked up here at La Aguja - big south wind. No rain (yet) but a spectacular cloud show.

Katiejay99 - 9-25-2012 at 04:13 PM

Electricity just came back on.

shari - 9-25-2012 at 04:22 PM

looks like it will be a spectacular sunset with the outer bands now moving up our way...it was hot and sunny most of the day.

comitan - 9-25-2012 at 04:37 PM

The last half hour dark clouds, wind, lightening, and some rain but not heavy gone for now.

comitan - 9-25-2012 at 05:58 PM

Shari Looks like your going to miss all the fun, hope you do get some rain.

shari - 9-25-2012 at 06:02 PM

jeepers and Juan went to Vizcaino for plywood to put up over the windows of our new room!

Ateo - 9-25-2012 at 06:06 PM

I bumped this just to confuse people, being that there are two threads basically on the same topic. :P:P

Got home at 3pm and no rain during the drive. Light traffic, got moved to secondary at the boarder and after a quick look I was on my way. San Quitin area around 5am and there had to be over 100 buses on coming. What a nightmare. If I had to pass them instead I would gone over the edge... again. Other than that good trip.
It's been cloudy here since I arrived. Thin clouds as far as I can see in all directions.
A bit of drizzle would be OK.

Bob and Susan - 9-26-2012 at 05:01 PM

pretty nice here on the bay...no rain...cooler

Marie-Rose - 9-26-2012 at 06:18 PM

Apparently lots of rain in TS again today:yes:

Katiejay99 - 9-26-2012 at 06:27 PM

Lots and lots and lots of rain in Todos Santos today. In fact it is still raining. Good for the farm animals, but BAD for the roads. At least we don't have the wind we had yesterday.

Bob and Susan - 9-27-2012 at 09:24 AM

buckets of water today!!!

what a different day..good thing that storm petered out and went to sea

no wind but LOTS of rain!!!

BillP - 9-27-2012 at 09:33 AM

It wont be a hurricane, but it looks like 94E will bring more rain.

vandenberg - 9-27-2012 at 09:37 AM

This may become a tropical storm. We're not out of the woods yet.
This from eebmike La Paz:

SHOWERS AND THUNDERSTORMS ASSOCIATED WITH A BROAD AREA OF LOW
PRESSURE LOCATED ABOUT 400 MILES SOUTH-SOUTHWEST OF MANZANILLO
MEXICO HAVE BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED THIS MORNING. ENVIRONMENTAL
CONDITIONS APPEAR CONDUCIVE FOR A TROPICAL DEPRESSION TO FORM DURING
THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS AS IT MOVES NORTH-NORTHWESTWARD AT 10 TO 15
MPH. THIS SYSTEM HAS A HIGH CHANCE...60 PERCENT...OF BECOMING A
TROPICAL CYCLONE DURING THE NEXT 48 HOURS. LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS ARE
POSSIBLE ALONG PORTIONS OF THE WEST COAST OF MEXICO DURING THE NEXT
COUPLE OF DAYS.

redmesa - 9-27-2012 at 09:40 AM

I like the tan line that goes up and then back down and west.

Wow, if she does become a hurricane, with the current models it'll be a direct hit!

We also got a lot of rain and winds to 35 mph (a guess). It probably has the road closed at the estuary. Still have showers but the wind only about 10 mph now. Hope later to get out and check the road.

shari - 9-27-2012 at 12:23 PM

it looked like rain for awhile here...spit a few drops and so far nothing...a lovely 15 knot breeze from the east and beautiful waves.

bajajudy - 9-27-2012 at 12:32 PM

Raining off and on here since last night.
Still dark as doo doo
No wind.
