Willard, I just reported you hoping the moderator will make you go away forever.

chuckie - 4-18-2013 at 06:20 PM

dtbushpilot:

Crossed at Tecate on Saturday 4/6 afternoon. We got inspected by three militar soldiers just prior to entering the border station, and they went through the trunk, so more than just questions. We were completely legal, but just saying that you might meet more than just questions from the US border agent at the booth.

Our crossing took 1 hour and 15 minutes. Good luck with time there.

I was in that line last Sunday for 1-1/2 hours, all the time watching up ahead as they searched cars at random, but usually with more than just a driver and looking like they were returning from an extended stay.....camping gear etc.
I think they're just entertaining themselves.

dtbushpilot - 4-18-2013 at 07:52 PM

Thanks for the heads up trueheart. Saturday isn't my favorite day to cross but that's just how it turned out this time. I'll be pulling a small enclosed trailer so I can expect to be cooling my heels in secondary for an extra hour or two. Oh well, I'll find a way to suffer through it, won't be the first or last time.....

On a different topic: some people have reported having their pet food confiscated, we have crossed dozens of times with pets, sometimes 2 dogs and 2 cats. They have never asked for papers or asked about pet food. One border guard asked what was in the pet carriers in the back seat, I said "cats", he said "cool, I like cats". Last time I crossed at Tecate (same truck and trailer) they asked me to put the dogs on a leash and wait "over there" while they searched the empty trailer, no problem.....I wonder what would happen if I carry the dog food in a pressure cooker?
(had to throw that in there so that I wouldn't be hijacking the post)

watizname - 4-18-2013 at 09:05 PM

I think dog food in a pressure cooker is a GREAT idea. It might cause the BP to spontaneously ignite.

Once again we will jump to a "feel good solution" that will affect law abiding citizens and not a solution that will address the real problems of mental illness.

Nothing will be done because we can't afford the cost.

The difference between the left and the right is that the left insists on doing things that should be done and the right counters with doing what we can afford to do. And neither side trusts the other's motive.

There's a reason why the eskimos would leave their sick and old to die on the ice fields when it was time to relocate.

chuckie - 4-19-2013 at 04:29 AM

I havnt seen any eskimos in Baja...So..Whats your point?

In fact, in California, a person who is on the records of their County as having received a recommendation to use cannabis, and who has done so legally, is in violation of Federal gun legislation which makes it illegal for a known user of Schedule 1 Narcotics to possess a gun. On the other hand, I found a link on our Sheriff's website to download the forms to get a concealed weapons permit most conveniently.

I am not that old ;D

62 just makes me feel old

I was prematurely grumpy but now I have grown into it. I will have to get a cane and whack people in the shins who get in my way.:lol:

I use my cane like a pool cue and shoot for somewhere else.

Pressure Cooker Pool:
If you scratch, you might put the cue ball and the eight ball in the same pocket. (Shut up, Dennis!):P:lol:

I knew it! I knew it!

Everybody laughed at Sarah when she warned us about the 'death panels' - she just knew how they do it in Alaska!
