We brought 250 toys across yesterday but not smuggled because of time factors now, we went ahead and declared them and paid the tax. It was $1,800
pesos but at least those are across. The other 50 or so, we left in a house in San Ysidro so we can smuggle those or just pay the tax and be done with
it. Customs is getting ridiculous with toys, money hungry blood suckers.
The only thing left at Bajabound is the 6 bikes we received this year. If you can help us with bringing a couple of those, yes, it would be great. You
see they wouldn't fit in the 2 cars we took and we can't say the value is only 3 dollars each. I don't know if you're driving a truck but they are mid
size bikes.
Gracias,

With the date change, now for January 31st, does anyone else think they will be able to make and join us for the toy give away?
I know sd is confirmed and Doug +3 are confirmed.fdt - 1-26-2016 at 01:37 PM
With the new border crossing situation the meeting point for this event will be on the US side, at the San Ysidro McDonalds Transit Center at 9AM on
Sunday.
There you will be meeting up with Doug Means (Mr. Baja Nomad himself), who at the same time will be waiting on a Meetup Group that is interested in
joining us.
The venue is in Tecate, at a community called Cerro Azul which is located on Hwy 3 Tecate Ensenada, km14. These are very poor children that live in
the outskirts of town, were most of the brick makers are.
If you plan to attend, please let us know as we have to plan for the transportation accordingly.
Also if you are running late, my mexico cel number is 01152 1 664 116-5788 or send Doug your number on a U2U so we can wait for you.
Saludos

Then 8am meeting time it is! Which allows a little buffer time if needed, and the ability to spend any needed time with immigration folks when
walking across, etc.
8am at McDonalds in San Ysidro next to the trolley station.

Confirming I will meet Doug 8AM at McDonalds next tp trolley station.

Small miracle needed;
There are 6 mid size bicycles at Bajabound that need to be picked up today Saturday between 10 am and 1pm only and brought down to San Ysidro were we
would cross them to México.
So maybe someone here with a truck that could do this for us???
Or at least pick them up from Bajabound and we can figure out later how to get them to the border and across.fdt - 1-30-2016 at 04:47 PM
Never mind, we got it.David K - 1-30-2016 at 05:38 PM

so fun to see those photos! how I wish we were closer so I could help out more!
congratulations on pulling it off and I am just so sad that you had to pay $1800 for the toys. bloodsuckers indeed. mean-spirited. hard-hearted.
ughhhhhhhh
The toys are so awesome - the bikes are so beautiful - great job!fdt - 2-3-2016 at 07:51 AM
We did it, what we never imagined, 10 consecutive years of taking joy and entertainment to the most needy. Thank you to all that have made this event
possible. I won't mention any names so I don't run the risk of excluding anyone but you know who you are. At the end of every event we have always had
enough toys and food for everyone. It all just comes together beautifully.
Thank you Baja Nomads for making it all possible!
Sometimes I wish we could give more, specially when you have 3 kids in front of you that want a bike and you only have one left. All I can say to them
is I'm sorry.
The good part is that most of the time the children receive their gifts with amazement. If it's just a little toy truck or a small doll. To see their
faces light up and to see how they hug their new toy and then start showing their friends, that is just plain beautiful and it's what moves our hearts
and has kept us going all this time.
I do want to thank my children for putting up with all of this.
Now, the question is;
Another ten?
Someone asked me why we do this if it's so much trouble and does not produce any profit, my answer was; I do it for the tamales at the end, they are
delicious! David K - 2-3-2016 at 08:47 AM
The profit is the look in the children's eyes.
Somethings are worth more than money.
Good job Fernando!
