@ chuckie: This is the first time I agree w/ you, old fark, as you stated "DUMB"! Robby Gordon is nothing more than a `show driverī. He is the only one who always jumps across the ramp but never gets good results. He needs to acknowledge that a cross country rally can not be won with a heavy car (a mammoth compared to others) like his Gordini. Look at all the other cars from place 1 to 10 : All small little bastards. Light but powerful. Easy to get back on the road after any incident. etc.
Now my question to you: Is this the first time you agree w/ me? Or r u opposing this as usual?

While he may have done a lot for off-road racing, this stunt was uncalled for and dangerous far beyond the two cars involved. He should be more than DQ'd.

Yes banned. Come on. He did more than pass a sandwich. He caused a major crash resulting in injury. One that could have resulted in the death of spectators.

hey im not defending robby's stupid actions here, it was a completely avoidable unfortunate accident, thank god sheldon's gramps will be okay, but we've all made mistakes, some big some small. Im for cutting robby a little slack, if you don't care to, I get that too!;)

(pending investigation, most think Kellon was behind the wheel, I don't know)

Robby is Robby......no question a great race car driver in most venues...He has spent millions in Dakar, but as he said, needs to rethink his program...And maybe grow up a little....I am a fan....I also heard that Kellon was wheelman,,but that may have been fabricated to avoid the DQ? (dint work)

O.K., I see that you didn`t catch the point. I am talking about the present and the future. You about the past. RG success you are listing is about from the last millennium. Those days are over! These days you cannot win a cross country rally like the Dakar, other than w/ a small, light, and powerful car. Talking about Baja 1000: The regulations allow trophy trucks to compete b/c the real WRC cars wouldn`t come to Baja. Neither the Baja 500 nor the 1000 is listed in the WRC championship. So what??? In case the 500 or the 1000 will be a WRC event, you have to learn that the days of the trophy trucks are over.
