BajaNomad

New Locked gate coming.

 Pages:  1  2

bajatrailrider - 8-13-2016 at 09:07 AM

I hear you Bajabreak I dont share my routes. This route I have posted is Known to general public. My intention was to let all know, this route will have a new gate locked. It will be at right next to rancho home so no chance of new problems. I dont post my MC routes as, I dont want Baja turning into another Calif. I dont use GPS nor even know how to use one. Since I live here,I have all the time to explore. The routes I use all go on ranchos (Moto trails). I would never share them as I know I would be kicked out. Just a few of us ride them.We dont even slide the turns, leaving tire berms,or woops. Nor post where they are. It only takes one inconsiderate person to ruin it for all.Happy to report again first time with Baja Nomads 4x4 pole line group. Down to earth great group to ride with.

The people of Baja Nomad who off road together and share good times through photos and trip reports make this site a pleasure to read. Thank you, Larry, for what you do share to help others enjoy the country.

Mt Let the off roaders stay in Glamis. Another worthless post from the marooon of San Deigo. Glamis is not in Baja. Keep up the mindless posts I enjoy.

I know glamis is not in baja. Its a chithole in socal. Would be fun place but for the knuckledragging. I suport ranchers banning offroading on private lands in baja, and am hopefull the socal knuckledraggers confine themselves to glamis and a few of the other socal ORV chithole areas on BLM land.

May as well try to drag an otherwise constructive topic into the crapper, since you have an obsession with knuckledraggers. How do you suport ranchers banning offroaders on private lands?

I'd like to see land access issues avoided if possible, and problems resolved, because, ironically, part of the reason I came upon this site is because I like to explore new places. Fortunately what rancher's do with their private land is up to them.

bajatrailrider - 8-13-2016 at 03:35 PM

You need understand Mt666 Chitehole, does not live in Mexico. His knowledge or lack of it is well documented. His knowledge even as a hiker is Worthless. My post was and is to get people together ,to get along with ranchers/residents in Baja.So when MT666 thinks he has the opportunity to bud in. You will be called out in the crapper or out.

mcnut - 8-14-2016 at 10:17 AM

I purposely choose to not engage in the name calling and demeaning of others.

It is so very sad to logon to a thread, only to see that once more an important Nomads thread intended to inform and/or find solutions to issues, has predictably been corrupted by a few who have nothing further constructive to post but insults.

I respect everyone's right to have and post their opinion here, but how many posts and how many insults should the rest of us have to endure so that a few here can, time and again, remind us that they are opposed to what is loosely referred to as off-roading, and that they represent a higher form of evolution then the rest of us?

Bruce

bajatrailrider - 8-14-2016 at 10:50 AM

Mt666 does not say one thing in any of his posts that make sense. His only agenda is disrupt any and all posts. Like what does Glamis have to do with Baja Mex,from someone that does not even live in this country. So if all on this forum told him off,he would not post his filth here.I do wish he face us person to person. Then he could be explained the fact of life.So long story short Im sorry all have to listen to me,but it will not stop.As long as worthless posts are here.

Great post Goat.

Off-roading destroys habitat, displaces wildlife, pollutes water, fouls the air, and the list is endless of the damage off-roading does.

What's up with the fake outrage?

Not everybody likes off-roading and the damage it does to the enviroment.

TMW - 8-14-2016 at 12:45 PM

Seasider it is what it is and you can't let it get to you. Some people like to hide behind a key board and post negative stuff. Some people just like to bash others. Some very good people have left because of it. I hope you will post your trip reports with pictures. I enjoy the trip reports whether in Baja or elsewhere. They give me ideals on where I may go on my next trip.

You do realize the biggest name caller here is the OP. Usually when someone post something he does not agree with. No rule here that I am aware of says everyone has to agree...but I would think there is some rule against attempts at personal insults.

The forum administrators have obviously made the decision to allow people like Mtgoat666 to post an unlimited amount of annoying material. The only reason I can think of is because a lot of people enjoy these type of posts and it increases the overall board activity.-just look at some of the most popular television programming.
It would be incredibly simple to clean things up. Other boards I belong to have moderators who quickly bring things under control, with a few words and possibly a warning.
I have never seen a board member such as Mtgoat666 dish out the crap and then have others(including me) give it right back without ever hearing from a moderator.
Furthermore, is this Mtgoat guy for real? How could someone keep returning to post after being punished and abused constantly? In a few months I have seen this individual being called turd, chithole, looser, loser,
scumbag, marooon, marooon, village idiot and a handful of others I can't think of right now.
Occasionally the admin. will step in and warn people not to feed the trolls. Why does the admin. not warn or ban certain posters?
I have mixed feelings about posting to a public board. On the one hand I have received plenty of useful travel info. and participated in some good discussion and have posted a trip report in return. On the other hand, I'm not sure if I will post a trip report the next time I visit Baja. I have a few reasons but mostly because of a small list of people who I just don't want to give anything to. I just think they are a pita and offer very little.

Maybe if the goat was not insulted with such nasty names or fed during his sometimes controversial statements this issue would not exist.

I don't know you yet but you may well be right about everything you say. Before I and anyone else who reads your post passes judgement, perhaps you could post some pics, personal observations and links to back up your negative claims about offroading. And since this is a Baja forum be sure to relate your post specifically to Baja. All of us would like to see this damage and I will definitely back you up, but get on with the proof please.

I would answer you, but it's my personal rule of never or rarely responding to a newbie, especially if they are trolls with less than 100 posts for many reasons.

However, I will make one statement to you this one time.

Do a Google search on the environmental damage of off-roading, because there is a lot of information if one is to open their eyes and read about the damage off-roading does to the environment and wildlife.

Building a paved or graded road destroys so much. Off roading is a misnomer since we actually use roads, unimproved dirt roads preferably. That is the kind that doesn't kill plants and animals but meanders between them, in harmony with Nature. Peace, love, and fish tacos!

Not so general in my mind. But that is ok Press on with your unbiased/noinvolved/no drama posting.

Is this where the thread went off the rails?

Dont label all off roaders as not caring Slime ball MT66.Your Rants about what you do in in the US. Have no business here in Baja. Here is the route we used south out of Meling to get to VG on bikes back in December 2016, based on previous maps (Pin 9) looks like this may stay north of the problem area.

SouthofMeling.jpg - 221kB

David K - 8-18-2016 at 06:45 AM

Nice map, thanks!

bajatrailrider - 8-18-2016 at 09:13 AM

Very nice map,the route down to the mission(blue line) does in fact go past problem Rancho. If you do not make Lt turn to Mission ,and just keep going that is open. You end up on paved observatory road, not a fun ride.We checked around Rancho El Carricito every trail/road/foot path.Fence or locked gate. After we hit paved observatory road,we went down about 1-2 miles.South back in to dirt some cross country,no locked gates.Ended up 1 mile south Camilu. Im told there is a single track (old) that is south of problem rancho. Comes down south of the mission. This is only talk at this point, when it cools down.We will hunt for this route,I believe it comes out.In a rancho at bottom of mountains, before we attempt this. I will drive truck to rancho, ask permission first.

I for one would hate to see Goat go. He poses some valid points, and yes he is frequently insulting, but overall contributes to the entertainment value, and occasionally some helpful Baja information. To respond to any insult on this board is an exercise in futility and a waste of time.

TMW - 8-18-2016 at 11:08 AM

Goat and JJJ are two classless jerks that should have been kicked off years ago. They have attacked others that contribute much more they ever could. Their vulgar comments drove one of the most intelligent members away. In my opinion they are the root of why BajaNomad has went down hill the past couple of years.

Thanks for putting me in the same class as the Goat. But really, I don't think I hang out in the regular forum that much to be mentioned along side Goat, although we are both progressives, which seems the real problem here.

No doubt Goat, loves the attention this thread is giving him.

That said, this thread about off-roading reminds me of threads about bullfighting, where members talk about their love for the so-called sport of bullfighting, while the rest us aghast of the brutality of bullfighting, where the bull is abused and finally killed for the amusement of the sadistic masses in the stadiums.

But if any progressive animal lover, jumps in the thread and talks about the brutality of bullfighting, they get attacked by the pro-bullfighting crowd, told to shut up, and they are even called trolls.

The same thing is going on here with a thread of off-roading when Goat, just mentions that when driving on private land you should be a pleasant guest than an ugly American, if I could paraphrase Goat.

In fact Goat's statement, gave Ron, aka Baja Gringo, courage to say something similar to the Goat, Ron said, " But as often happens, it's the few bad apples that end up spoiling it for the rest."

So keep in mind threads about off-roading come off as insulting as bullfighting threads, given the so-called sport destroys habitat, displaces wildlife, pollutes water, fouls the air, noise pollution and other damage.

Personally, I find these threads boring, and rarely if ever will post in them, but sometimes others will see the thread like this, and can't help but mention some of the negative things about the sport, because for them, it's insulting to even read about off-roading.

I would say if somebody like the Goat, or jumps in a thread like this, don't get your panties in a bunch, he is entitled to his opinion and he knows a lot about the environment and American behavior in Baja.

Of course if you want a forum of only like-minded individuals who are white, gray-haired and conservative, I'm sure you could find such a place, just like there are forums just devoted to Baja off-roading.

Your solution is to follow a bigoted egotistical real estate developer that lives by the credo "me, myself and I"

America will not be great if we follow the path to white supremacists, bigotry, etc. to make a dwindling white majority feel great again.

Dk, get over it, your days of white majority are over,... The USA is truly a melting pot. White supremacy will not take you back to 1950s America of your Del Mar youth

Creating jobs for all people and wanting them to succeed and not need welfare anymore is real compassion, not bigotted. Protecting our borders and our jobs in our country is not bigotted, as your overlords have fed you, it is patriotic. All countries have a right to patriotism and border security.

I hope mine have a country like the one my parents left me, where we proudly love our country, learn patriotism, say the Pledge of Allegiance, a country that rejects criminals in office, failed policies and programs that find 8 years of hope and change has the country worse off than ever with more poverty, more on food stamps, more out of full-time work, more disrespect for the law, a world where innocent children and women are beheaded, burned alive, or drowned.

The one nation that can feed the world and put men on the moon, is a strong and great America and that is not a bigoted idea, not a place for special deals for special people (who take millions from countries where gays are killed), not one where president blames police before knowing the truth and causes so much damage to both property and law enforcement.

Not a country whose ambassador pleaded for weeks for assistance to his 'friend' and boss, Hillary Clinton... and got none, and then was tortured and killed, while she slept... then she told his family and the Americans it was a YouTube video reaction while already knowing the truth and told the real story to her daughter and the Egyptian leader.

It must stop!

Do You think he will find you a job?

Since you are unemployed, do you want your children to be like you?

When have we ever fed the world? We have given them a lot of weapons.

Yes it must stop...

Reagan inherited a far worse economy (Jimmy Carter) in 1981 and solved it before he was out of office. Not only did he solve it, but he gave America the longest period of peacetime economic prosperity in modern history.

True, but what David K says it right on target, and the Administration sure has made things a LOT more difficult for millions! (and that's a fact)

bajabuddha - 8-20-2016 at 08:17 PM

And people wonder why this site is fading; blaming everyone else for everything else, but it's this BULLchitT that has nothing to do with Baja, is disruptive, insulting and flat inexcusable.

GO TO A POLITICAL FORUM, YOU DOPES.

Good point, why are you people talking U.S. Policy . In OFF ROAD FORUM IN BAJA. Are you all nuts, yes you are.

The job market is good for people with skills.
If irrigation is not hiring, Dk should apply to be a tour guide for one of the motorcycle tourism outfits in Baja, I see them all the time.

At least David has a brain MT666 you dont. I hear you applied for a job cleaning the bath room at McDonalds. Where turned down with your lack of skills.

English is a second language for you, isn't it? And you slept through remedial grammar classes, huh?

If you think David has a brain, then by his posts, you most likely think he's the most patriotic nomad posting here.

Even if Tom were working at McDonald's, at least he's out in the work force -- not whining about Dem social programs taking money out of your pocket. Boo-hoo.

Now, back to locked gates (more boo-hoo's), and tearing up the countryside in lawless Baja?

chuckie - 8-22-2016 at 09:44 AM

Bajatrailrider has the right idea...Get permission BEFORE you require access. Don't just show up at the gate or the ranchers house and say we need to get through here. And if the answer is NO, accept it and move on. Nothing used to pee me off more than having someone ask "why not?" It's MY ground and I don't have to justify my answer. Show respect....

It's surprising that Tom makes more sense than you do David.

Your political presence here is a personal insult. If your hatred and bigotry didn't keep surfacing at this forum, there would be no need to point out how pathetic your opinion comes across.

Stick to the few things you know. Politics on this forum just pi$$es everyone off.

If you could count all his deleted posts where he turned tail and ran to try to save face he'd be way over the 100,000 mark by now. BTW; the top (current) limit is 26,000 to be 'HONORED' Nomad; what's DK gonna get after 50k? Does the constituency get to vote on a new designation? Here are a few suggestions:

EXALTED NOMAD

ESTEEMED NOMAD

GRAND POOHBAH NOMAD (my fave)

SUNSHINE NOMAD

.....any suggestions?

First off, Doug could get rid of the post count and status level names and that would be fine. I don't post a lot to grow the count. I post a lot because I like sharing and if you don't want to read my shares, then nobody is making you. That's called freedom.

However, what your side likes to do is harass and attempt to embarrass any opposition so there is no chance people can see a different point-of-view. Your side wants no opposition.

I delete posts (as I have explained before) when a post of mine is quoted or if there is no longer any relevance to it in a thread. You may like seeing my same post multiple times, but I would rather clean up the thread to help it stay focused. I know this is counter to your desire to make it about me and to further your opinion that government must be smarter, more powerful, and our masters in life.

The best thing you boys can do is ignore me, make me irrelevant and move on to your next agenda item. Please grow up. The schoolyard bully stuff should be left when you reached puberty.

DK's politiks and dodge-and-run mentality is much like self-pit-sniffing. Kinda satisfying to oneself, but to the majority of everyone else IT FRIGGIN' STINKS. Some of us get tired of him turning threads around to be a) all about him and b) all about his political woes, so yes Sr. Lencho, we react. Some things are entirely personal and should be kept that way, but some people have a propensity to think they're placed here to spread their particular brand of "pit" in everyone else's face whether they wanna hear it or not. Same with your brand of condescension.

I don't think I have ever read/seen any "political" post by David that is not in answer to somebody else's political comment within the thread that is over-the-top silly, and we think just wrong.

I don't usually begin any political debate...
but it is really obvious the opposition wants to silence me.
If I am so wrong, then leave my replies alone and they will die on their own.

The fear of the opposition is that my observations are based on reality (observations, or true science) and not far off forecasts of what might happen, in some future time.

Did you ever wonder why you seem to be at the center of EVERY political debate here? and why it does not happen elsewhere?

This board has gotten a little too much like The View. It also reflects the mainstream media bias. I think I'm over looking here for any useful information.

I will request that you not let the negative posters who have nothing better to do than reply with hate or disdain for things they don't like or aren't able to do (ie. enjoy life in the manner so many of us Nomads can). By stopping your posts, you let "them" win. This is how real freedom ends. If "they" disagree with your actions or thinking, they label you as racist or some phobia, or because you love freedom are some extremist. In essence, they end your freedoms of speech and of association by silencing you.

Soon America (if not made great again) will sink into a lifeless cesspool where nobody has any rights because they were all surprised by loud mouths and the media, and worse yet, a president who has no love for the country his/her parents left for them.

I believe this is the first real political comment...oh my who posted it?

Useful information has been pretty scarce here for quite a while now, I stopped looking for or offering useful Baja info on this board a long time ago. Looks like the trolls have won, maybe Doug should consider a name change....

If (that's a big if) a monitor/administrator could keep the discussion on topic (from ALL people) this forum might have a chance. Even then I don't know...even the most innocent of topics seem to become contentious.

David K - 8-24-2016 at 07:19 AM

Ralph, this was an on-topic exchange between Larry, Tom, and I about a locked gate and where it was, until Mt. Goat called us knuckledraggers, bezzell, and then you started up with the bolt cutter stuff. It's all on the first and second page.

Never let an opportunity to sidebar an off road thread pass, right?

I hope this site doesn't shut down. I have gotten a lot of useful info here and seen some great trip reports with beautiful pictures. It is very easy for me to skip the bs and move on without a reply. Leave it alone and it will die.

Agreed, but those statements were not political and not a sidebar. As an off-roader I respect the rights of private property owners under all conditions and will state so. YOU brought in the politics. If the discussion was to be private, then do it in U2U.

David K - 8-24-2016 at 08:08 AM

Many of us actually like each other, go out of our way to be nice, share our trips here, and go on Nomad group trips, like the one last year when we met ehall, Chuck, Larry (bajatrailrider), Harald (4x4abc), Karl (fernwah), etc.

In any large group, there will be different ideologies, it is just demographics of a forum. When we meet up for Baja group stuff, we have an excellent time. Those who mouth off here, never show up in person, introduce themselves, post photos of themselves... Why is that? If they aren't happy to be with others, then why mess up conversations we have here?

The threads that go haywire are the ones where one side posts an opinion (sea levels, off roading, etc.) and then gets angry if another point-of-view is shared. At that point, they go crazy with the insulting, name calling, and then twist it like it wasn't them who made it unfriendly. Can we just read all posts, post our own stuff and not have it get personal or insulting?

I think we should be able to work it out. Doug does not want to babysit grownups on this forum and only deletes or closes threads when it is extreme. We all can move on to another thread or another topic.

Post Reply?

AKgringo - 8-24-2016 at 08:27 AM

That is the way the reply button should be viewed, with a question mark. Too many people see 'Must Reply!', and either start or add to the demise of a useful thread.

The only problem is both sides being able to post here without any insults or name calling. Can't we all just share stuff about Baja and enjoy reading or exchanging thoughts, ideas or opinions, and no name calling?
