Here's a couple of my favorites taken in Baja at the recently completed NORRA Mexican 1000. (I think a trip report will follow soon...)

Yes, that was our place, Freddy and Ava were at the ready to greet them.

aburruss - 5-23-2019 at 09:03 PM

Paulina, thank you so much for your hospitality! The guys who stayed there couldn't say enough good things about their stay, and especially the food! "Best chicken I've ever had" :)

I got chosen by the team to "rough it" in San Ignacio this race.. Sad I missed Freddy and Ava.

The surfboard sign is gone...The new painted rocks are less than a month old!

Here's a shot with the old surfboard:

JZ - 5-24-2019 at 07:44 PM

A shot from the Zodiac. This was off the coast of Sonora. The island in the distance is Isla San Pedro. It's about 20 miles North of San Carlos.

One of the bays on Isla Espiritu Santo. I'd have to do some digging to figure out which one. That is a screen shot from a video I took in April.

JZ - 5-25-2019 at 09:11 PM

Shot this outside of Rancho Grande about 2 years ago when we were passing through. Always made me think a lot about them, and what an interesting life they were living.

I don’t see an interesting life in that picture.

I see people getting a sunburn and hearing damage.

If those people live in Rancho grande area, I feel sorry for them.
Nice place to visit, wouldn’t want to live there.

Mulege Canuck - 5-26-2019 at 09:14 PM

Just have to go slow. I do a lot of tough roads. It is a F350 after all. A Tacoma would be crushed with that camper on it 😎

This is the road from Mulege to San Juanico. I took a buddy of mine up there with me this year with his Lance camper. He was a little nervous but he made it.

6D999BFE-DEA2-4419-B9A5-A04809389259.jpeg - 77kB

This is “Agua de Gringo”. It is about half way from Mulege to San Juanico. I did The whole road to San Juanico 5 years ago but I would not do that again. Never ending boulders with mediocre scenery.

I now just go to the swimming hole for the night and head back to Mulege. If you go up there, the water is good in January or early February, by March the water is too warm and a little gross to swim in.

I haven't landed there in almost 10 years. It’s a nice long runway and was always graded smooth. Never any problems.

It's Rex at Yoli's.

Paco Facullo - 5-30-2019 at 08:59 AM

I love Dogs and always bring lot's of treats for the Baja dogs.

Yoli's makes some REALLY good homemade food. Love her chili rellenos and fried chicken and the ice cold Pacifico's !

Will be eating there (hopefully) in a couple of weeks .

Also Timoteo5000 Welcome to the Nomads, you'll fit right in...

That's a memorial to Jeff "Ox" Kargola, a motocross rider who died while riding in Baja.

The other photo is San Javier from a slightly different perspective.

Kinda hard to see, the map marker is at the top of the "O" in "OX" -- you may have to zoom in a bit.

:light:
PLEASE help Doug and size your images to the max of Nomad or under... 800 pixels is the full width of this forum... Posting images over 1000 pixels does not improve them, it only blows the forum off the screen requiring sideways scrolling for those with standard monitors.
It is easy to fix yourself. Click EDIT and add =800x right after the IMG in the tag at the start of the photo image link you post here. It will look like [IMG=800x] instead of just [IMG].

Those are about the highest I've seen.

But one day around 10 years ago we left Loreto at 7am on the boat heading up to Santa Rosalia. We were into the the trip 15-20 mins, playing "Born to Run" pretty loud, my buddy and I were looking back at the wake as Loreto started to fade away. All of a sudden, we saw a dolphin jump 20-30 feet out of the water like it was Sea World.

Haven't seen anything close to that since. But we have seen some pods of about a hundred of them off of Sonora several times. Want to get one of those pods captured on the drone someday.

The new pup is a long haired Akita. He'll grow to about 115-130 pounds.
