Skipjack Joe, I'm really surprised with your irritation at internet4baja. He hasn't gone to other postings to tell about his service. This is a new thing for those without reasonable service and he does what he says he's going to do. You've got almost 7,000 postings in 10 years so you've seen the really offensive posts that popup here. Today's post is only to help those that have signed up with him.

Bob and Susan - 4-8-2015 at 07:01 AM

I wouldn't have know about this if he hadn't posted here...

I didn't even believe it work in the beginning...
I was brainwashed and beat down by hughesnet

shari - 4-8-2015 at 08:12 AM

I even clicked to open this thread HOPING my name would be on the list! that is because I have friends who are in internet heaven these days with this new service.

It has become an interesting lesson in mistaken identity in the sandbox...from the git-go. It is refreshing to hear some of the nay-sayers and little faith folks singing praises to Internet4baja...and kudos to the brave souls who were the first guinea pigs to take the risk and try out a new product!

I salute you Internet4baja for the valuable service you are providing...lets hope it is everything people hoped for!

Gig Plans

Fastbird - 4-8-2015 at 08:24 AM

Bob, I just talked to Lexi at Via Sat, she said I can go to 15 gig ( about $30 more per month) or 25 gig anytime. She said it depends on your area ( I suppose that refers to transponder capacity etc.) and I am on their Classic plan.
Hope this info helps folks.

gracias shari

internet4baja - 4-8-2015 at 01:07 PM

were just happy everybody is coming out of the caves and smoke signals
and now have relaible service and 18 mbps of high speed the only issue is that
the hughes dish is to big to fit in the trash can

y gracias a bob and susan that were in this case the guinea pigs
and linda in san antonio del mar altho we didnt install her she had faith in us

Kgryfon - 4-8-2015 at 11:59 PM

Ignore the trolls. Looks like you are providing a valuable service and people want to see your posts. Those that don't...well, I guess they can just not click on them. Easy enough.

Pescador - 4-9-2015 at 07:01 AM

That is almost sacrilege to call internet4Baja anything but our hero and knight in shining armor. For the first time since coming down here clear back in the 70's I can get communication and find out what is going on in the world up north. I suffered through talking to family over Hughes Net with a Skype connection that broke up and lagged. We learned to say over when we reached the end of a statement. So these guys come on and offer a service and with the response I see in our area of Santa Rosalia, Mulege, and Punta Chivato, they will be sold out in no time. I too was a little reluctant at first but when I saw that Bob Frambes, who I respect, signed up, I jumped right in knowing he had probably checked things out more thoroughly than I did.

Udo - 4-9-2015 at 10:57 AM

I'm planning on using them as soon as I move down south!

Therefore I am thankful for their announcement of their service.

Well , that just plain sucks,

Issac installed our system a little over a week ago and I can't say enough about his ability , knowledge and enthusiasm. Let alone how great the new service works!

He passed us on the road into PC in his sedan and I was was concerned then how long the car would last while being used to service rugged , remote areas that he is taking care of.

Issac speaks good english , and I learned that he worked as an installer of cable/ Sat in the LA area. Installations were done quite often on his shoulders and as people didn't pay their bills , his pay was docked accordingly . By the big corps that could really afford it . Issac has a good sense of self and is doing what he needs to to make a living. In Baja

He is a hard worker and deserves better , he is performing quite a service and goes above and beyond the basic install of a dish and modem.

So what can we subscribers do??

If there are 300 initial systems, a $10 propina would be $3000 but how about $ 20 or more and get him something decent and reliable ?

If some one will set up a Pay Pal , We could do this

BTW , Hughes net was all but un- usable for the last few weeks .Worse than dial - up.

The new system kicks a**!

Get one soon!

Thanks Issac

Issac is humble

internet4baja - 4-9-2015 at 09:57 PM

i know issac along time and more then a co worker his my friend and i know his making a effort also know that more then a service this is a way alot of people communicate and get stuff done (threw internet ) i know this service is going to change lifes and beter yet get rid of all internet problem and unrelaible service i have 1,500 dls and i can make a effort maybe 2,ooo dls out of my pocket to get issac a car or truck is there anybody willing to sell one in mulegue or punta chivato or close to the area

so issac can continue to make a living and on his way make your life easier
i have read alot of post were our clients are able to speak or do video chat with there loved one up north with out a problem

i also read that everybody is happy getting 18 megas when before issac were struguling to get 0.5 mbps heck struguling beacuse there was no internet

I asked the guys at Telnor about the fiber optic cable and they say there are no tie ins to the cable and that it runs to La Paz and Cabo. It supposedly was never designed to be tapped into. The Internet service that you get from Telnor which is called Infinitum is actually beamed from microwave tower to microwave tower. One of the officials who was in Santa Rosalia indicated that they could actually improve capacity by doing some upgrades on the towers, but I do not expect to see that happen anytime real soon.

LOSARIPES - 4-18-2015 at 08:24 AM

Does you system work down in the La Paz area?...I don't know if I asked you this Q before..... can't remember if it was you.
Telmex svc is bad. Very bad where I live.

in la paz

internet4baja - 4-19-2015 at 05:57 PM

im not so sure we whent over to la aguja on the pacific side of la paz and didnt have much luck we got signal but not enuff to make the exede work but the signal is coming from the golfo side so there is no telling

if you wanna pay for the travel expenses we can go over and check

Mula - 4-19-2015 at 06:02 PM

Boy, I hope you can get my other dish to work in Lopez Mateos! I spend 6 months in San Nicolas and 6 months in Lopez and go back and forth frequently and just take my modem with me.

It will really be a bummer if it won't come in = in Lopez good.

What kind of luck are you having in San Juanico - north of Lopez on the Pacific side?

bajalinda - 4-19-2015 at 07:27 PM

Right - only got a very poor signal here at La Aguja.

If you do decide to try an installation in La Paz, it will be really interesting to see if the mere 26 kms between here and there across the peninsula makes a difference.

san juanico y lopez mateo

internet4baja - 4-19-2015 at 08:44 PM

we have signal in san juanico and about 10 current customer s there enjoying high speed internet

and lopez mateo is in our covarage map so dont worry lol
we will get to it

and let hope theres a brave nomad willing to try exede further south we wont know till you reach out

merlin - 4-21-2015 at 06:47 AM

Not sure how far south it will work but it's working well here in San Juanico. Osiris and his team of installers are great - very helpful and professional. Super stoked to get rid of HN, too!

Russ - 4-21-2015 at 07:19 AM

I'm not sure what is suppose to happen when you're FAP'd with Excede but I'm getting unbelievable speed. Only a couple times have I noticed near Hughes snail speed after going over the 10GB allotment.

its all true

internet4baja - 4-21-2015 at 10:51 PM

exede 18 mbps is the future visit us on facebook show your support and give us a like

all hughes net equipment is going in the trash were it belongs(for all the suffuring it has cause)
i posted a long time ago this

"were going to put hughes net in the past nobody is going to need it after i get done with baja"'

and i ment it

i just need to thank God and and all of you for buying our product and beliving in us. i know we cant keep every body happy maybe our field schedule is a bit off but we at least try and of courses we got all the other dealer mad at us and cousing envy and putting obstacles along the road but it comes with the job and were ready for any obstacle

because were trained profesionals from parral chihuahua were rural areas are more rural then baja

we are the leaders in satelite internet and who ever comes in next would just be following us

Pescador - 4-22-2015 at 06:57 AM

I can not believe after having many years of experience with the other Sat provider in Baja that we finally have a decent system available. My late friend Wayne Davy got me started with my first system that I would hook up while here and then carry the modem back to Colorado to use there since I lived in a rural area. It makes me shudder to think about using dial up and waiting for 5 minutes for an e-mail to download. Then when I got really tired of talking to India or Malaysia or someplace for Tech support and nothing ever really got resolved. Then we tried purchasing a system that was resold through another company it was all a real frustrating and negative experience. So, with great expense, I hooked up to Infinitum by putting a parabolic antenna in another village and beaming the signal to my house. Because of the base connection, the service was basically unusable by 10 in the morning until after midnight because of being oversold. So I was skeptical when Bob and Susan hooked up with Exede but knew that he was very thorough and critical. So now I get a phone call within an hour of calling, I get someone on the phone who is polite and listens to my questions, I get an immediate response from the installer who comes when he says he is going to come, and the small issue that arose when it came to billing was easily settled. On top of that I get 21.57 download speed which is better than I had while in San Diego this month. So thank goodness for the guys at Excede and make sure you go to their Facebook page and give them a like. They certainly, in my mind, have done everything to deserve our congratulations.

Russ - 4-22-2015 at 07:43 AM

Well.... my over use finally caught up with me. I got this pop up

...and the speed died...

and my mail won't load and photo bucket won't copy the IMG. I've rehooked to Hughes and although slow everything works. I'm hoping that later today Excede will speed up like it did when I first got fap'd.
more later...

Bob and Susan - 4-22-2015 at 07:46 AM

it is great to have fast internet..

but...

we are "the dinosaurs"...

the tv ads say cable companies are providing 50mpbs now

....what will the future bring

I had to call Hughes for my 45 buck refund again...
im still waiting for them to "pay-up"

Russ - 4-22-2015 at 08:28 AM

So I'm back after less than 2hrs. I unplugged the Excede modem for a short while and bypassed the wifi direct to the computer and did a speed test... again

I don't get it but I like it!

russ

internet4baja - 4-23-2015 at 09:38 PM

It has to do alot with your router russ

exede internet is not compateble with many router
the best is tp link

we sell them for
50dls the regular ones
110 dls the speacial ones

p.s there s cheaper ones n ebay and other places but i dont think they come with the newest version of firmware

Russ - 4-24-2015 at 06:19 AM

I'm sure that my router is working well. I am hardwired from Exede modem to my desktop most of the time so wifi is not an issue. I just went over and got FAP'd. Since Wed afternoon the Excede speed is dismal and have been using my Hughes on my wifi setup. I did a speed test this morning.
EXCEDE

Hughes

3 more days until my first month is up and then I hope to stay within my allotment. I've learned a lot this first month.

Pescador - 4-24-2015 at 11:17 AM

I had a Linksys router that worked fine with my other systems but when I got Exede hooked up I was only getting 5.6 -6.0 download speed. So I wired in direct with cable and it shot to 21.56 download. Guess I will need to get some kind of router for my iPad and iPhone.

ncampion - 4-29-2015 at 09:16 PM

Interested in Loreto

Bob and Susan - 4-30-2015 at 05:40 AM

if you need SAT internet BUY IT!!!

speed test comparisions
hughes = 1
exede = 19
Fios in the USA = 27

I called yesterday to see if we could get unlimited data...still no
maybe later...for no we're stuck with a budget

our video phone calls are fantastic
perfect for being off grid

chivatojoe - 4-30-2015 at 07:12 AM

Bob and Susan a question: What APP or service do you use with Exede for you video phone calls. Seems that would be one if not the best benefit of high speed.

Pescador - 4-30-2015 at 07:31 AM

Joe, Skype works great.

monoloco - 4-30-2015 at 08:40 AM

I'd love to have the speed, but the data cap is a deal killer.

LOSARIPES - 4-30-2015 at 09:41 AM

Is there equipment one has to buy to get started?... and what is the monthly/yearly fee?

Bob and Susan - 4-30-2015 at 12:02 PM

we're using Skype computer to smart/phone
very good service

actually Skype to cell phone in mexico is fast too

ncampion - 4-30-2015 at 12:47 PM

I notice in the speed checks that Russ posted that even though the UL and DL speed is very good, the latency is very high (Ping > 600ms) I would think that would make for bad VOIP connections. Are you saying that VOIP is working well with this much latency?

Bob and Susan - 4-30-2015 at 03:49 PM

latency...I heard that too

video Skype works great...ping around 600

maybe software has fixed that problem

internet4baja - 5-2-2015 at 02:29 PM

satellite ping start from 500 a 600 ping is actually a good ping number worry when you get a 23 ping or lower then 100 something wrong

and yes were installing further south loreto here we come lol

Bob and Susan - 5-3-2015 at 06:24 AM

actually a lower ping number is better...the bigger the number the slower the ping

normally software takes care of this problem...computers are pretty "smart"

LOSARIPES - 5-11-2015 at 11:50 AM

So, when, how do we check, test and get the system going?

HERES A TIP
http://www.exede.com/become-a-dealerinstaller/

SEEMS EVERYBODY WANT TO BE A EXEDE DEALER

CortezBlue - 7-30-2015 at 07:06 AM

Just a suggestion.

I see there are folks using Skype and Magic Jack.

I have been using, for voice only, Obi Hai www.obihai.com or it can be purchased from Amazon or Fry's electronics.

It works in conjunction with Google Voice. You pay a one time fee for the unit, get a google voice account and you now have a FREE US based phone number. You can also buy cheap minutes to dial into Mexico. 5 cents to call a cell in Mex or 1 cent to call a land line in MX.

I have had mine for several years and have got my moneys worth.

And as a side note, if you don't have a Google Voice Number, get it!!

You can control your phone number in so many ways it is a real benefit.

tecatero - 9-30-2015 at 05:11 AM

What wifi router do you recommend to use with the Excede system.....I was told the net gear nighthawk AC1900 is the best. Can you confirm ? Will bring one from the US so it can be installed along with the system if this is true...thx

Bob and Susan - 9-30-2015 at 05:39 AM

here is the router you want with exede with data restrictions
http://www.gargoyle-router.com/shop

there isn't a router that limits data on a daily basis right now
it's the software/firmware in the router that does it

I've been using this guy all summer...works great

you do have to "learn" the system...its not plug and play because everyone has different "needs"
the seller is outstanding with support

I've also noticed some "smart phones" log on with different channels
our router is a dual band router

good luck with that

tecatero - 9-30-2015 at 05:56 AM

wow thanks, never heard of the Gargoyle,,,,,,,Does Osiris or the other exceed installers have the capability of installing the Gargoyle ?? I have zero computer ability outside of weather checking and emailing....lol thx
