Pompano - 11-12-2014 at 04:21 PM

North Dakota/Saskatchewan border.

Let's see.....The Earth is Cooling…No, It’s Warming ..No, It's Cooling...

Hmm...well, today it's so cold that the rock rattling around in your shoe is your toe. It actually warmed up to 16F for a bit.

Today we're going to weather-strip the Canadian border.

tripledigitken - 11-12-2014 at 04:25 PM

Diane,

Your so close to Luckenbach, you should stop in for a refreshment. Willie Nelson had one of his 4th of July parties there.

monoloco - 11-12-2014 at 04:45 PM

Pescadero near the beach: Sunny 83º, 77% Humidity, 10 minute average windspeed 2mph. The ocean looks like a lake.

Yes, today in the name of Waylon, Willie and the boys, we made our pilgrimage to Luckenbach and glad we did!

Back to the weather, it is supposed to be cold again tomorrow --- soon, it may be time to head for the Big Easy.

For some reason, tonight I just can't get out of the quote box.

There must be more than one Fredericksburg because the South had one of it's major victories there.

I'm having reservations about retiring in Bend. It was 9 degrees when I checked. That's brutal. It was warmer in Anchorage (42) then east oregon.

Now that I'm an old fart temperatures fascinate me more. Not sure why that is.

chuckie - 11-12-2014 at 07:33 PM

Cypress - 11-13-2014 at 04:28 AM

Pompano - 11-30-2014 at 02:48 PM

The weather? It's 13 below zero. Lots of snow and getting deeper. Snow bunnies are non-existent.

Mmmm....yes, it seems my medication has cooled properly in a snow bank.

Packing soon for Oregon late-salmon rivers... and then maybe some yellowtail down in you-know-where.

David K - 12-2-2014 at 11:34 AM

Rain began today in north San Diego County about an hour ago where I am. They predicted 1-3 inches today between the coast and mountains.
Anything to stop the drought panic mouths is great, even if it prevents me from working for a bit!

Where?

Edit... On the Bayou?

[Edited on 12-2-2014 by David K]

Cypress - 12-2-2014 at 01:29 PM

David K, Johns bayou. It's off a tributary of the Pascagoula River, down toward the marsh, sort of a transition zone. You can catch both fresh and salt water fish within a two or three mile stretch of water. Google it.:D

wessongroup - 12-2-2014 at 01:35 PM

Light rain .. for the past couple days ... off and on ... not heavy

Hope your right ... on the change in the weather

David K - 12-3-2014 at 03:26 PM

I don't need the drama they spew... years of dry weather followed by heavy rainfall happens over and over. This week's rain is great, it doesn't make up the water needs yet, but sometime soon it will.

Does anyone remember all the bridges washed out on Hwy. 1 less than 5 years ago (San Vicente, Colonia Guerrero, El Rosario)? The next 4 years were pretty dry, but lot's of water will come again. I apologize if "drought-panic-mouths" was "burronine" name calling. I wasn't saying it to anyone specific, it just gets old, and I am in that water delivery industry so maybe it affects me more. I would think agri-business is sensitive to their predictions, so I feel bad for your business as well Jorge. Best of luck to you and the weather!

In Mississippi? Wow... I had to Google it! :light:

Skipjack Joe - 12-3-2014 at 09:57 PM

You wanna sea what the weather's like here?

Hook - 12-4-2014 at 04:14 AM

Blowin' like a mofo, along the coast of Sonora. Some gusts to AT LEAST 40 knots. Fire drill at 4am to bring up the outdoor screens.

I am worried about some cuttings I have outside. Young broccoli and tomatoes are threatened. We'll see if the trellised beans and peas are up to this.

There are some t-storms around...........

The silver lining? It's 78 degrees at 4am, up nine degrees since midnight.

This is from Siberia? Feels like I should be saying "aloha" instead of Zdravstvuj.

Skipjack Joe - 12-4-2014 at 04:50 AM

That's Half Moon Bay, pal !

.... err ... I mean, comrade.

It was blowing something crazy. I was in my full bipolar mode.

Hook - 12-4-2014 at 06:08 AM

Apologies, for being unclear. I was referring to Don Jorge's post above.

Now raining at about a half inch an hour.........strong winds continuing.

Enough daylight in a half hour to check the damage.

DENNIS - 12-4-2014 at 06:31 AM

WOW....That's a freakin' deluge, Hook. Better start building an Ark. :light:

Hook - 12-4-2014 at 06:35 AM

That's a lotta rain for December, in these parts. It wouldnt even be noticed in the traditional monsoon months.

Clouds continuing for a few days. Now, the worry becomes the various plant mildews that we almost never see here, with the moisture on the plants.

Gotta get the coffee maker going before we lose power! It has flickered a couple times.

[Edited on 12-4-2014 by Hook]

tripledigitken - 12-4-2014 at 06:53 AM

Here in La Mesa storm total (Tuesday 10am to this am), 3"!

Pompano - 12-4-2014 at 07:11 AM

Weather report from Up North.

-18F, another blizzard coming, ducks/geese are a faint memory, and deer are wanting to come inside. Canadians have overrun the border heading for the southland.

Conditions became intolerable.....had everything winterized and packed salmon gear.

Now heading west....but, the snow's getting deeper, wolves drawing closer....fear navigator drinks.

shari - 12-4-2014 at 08:02 AM

it actually rained gently last night much of the night here in Asuncion...great I didnt have to water the plants this week!!! 65 degrees with 92% humidity...no laundry today but there are fish in the smoker..life is good.

Just stopped raining in San Marcos, the Internet says we only got 0.8" from this storm... but it seems more, as it has been raining light but steady 48 hours, since Tuesday morning.

Just checked more weather sites, and since the storm hit, the total measured rainfall here is as stated and was less than 1". The TV weather predicted 1-3 inches.

The good part is that it was a slow soaking rain.

DianaT - 12-4-2014 at 09:10 AM

Storm clearing out and suppose to be 60 today. Need more rain and snow!

Cypress - 12-4-2014 at 11:14 AM

shari - 12-17-2014 at 04:56 PM

this morning was chilly and there were rain cells all around us but we only got a 5 minute sprinkle out of it...but the swell is outstanding not to mention the groovy clouds.

sunset should be dramatic too!

rts551 - 12-17-2014 at 07:35 PM

Tis the season of several wardrobe changes every day...start off with sweats for my walk/run, then change to shorts and a tank top for after breakfast till late afternoon...a long sleeve T-shirt for a bit then yank on some jeans for sunset...sheesh! At least it is still bikini weather for our swims! sometimes the water is warmer than the air!
