SoCalPattonCrew - 11-6-2013 at 10:55 AM

The family just received an email from a couple that spent several weeks in Scorpion Bay, San Juanico. After leaving the area and 2 days later, they spotted Gary's flyer and both thought he looked familiar from the Scorpion Bay area. Our email address was on the flyer and we have notified our contact in Baja with this information. Please be aware if anyone checks out this area. Our continued appreciation for all that you have done.

KaceyJ - 11-6-2013 at 11:21 AM

Given the circumstances and lack of confirmed sightings , my gut feeling is you should be putting your search efforts in the Jardines/SanQuintin area .

Flyers need to be posted in San Juanico. Anyone know someone there? Flyer could be emailed to them for distribution ther e.

fish101 - 11-6-2013 at 11:58 AM

I emailed my friends in San Juanico this morning, asking them to check this thread and if they may have spotted Gary in this area. Some of you may know them: Mike and Cholie Patterson (former owners of Del Borracho's in Loreto). If I hear back from them and they haven't posted a reply on this thread, I will post any information that I receive.

Martyman - 11-6-2013 at 12:19 PM

I saw a flyer at the tourist info place in the San Quintin area. We stopped to get our fishing licenses. The guys that worked there made sure we saw the flyer. This was in late September.

SC2BAJA - 11-6-2013 at 10:02 PM

I am headed to San Juanico after the baja mil next weekend. I will check La Laguna, Cardon, Datil and Cadaje on my way south. There are a hundred different roads heading south via the salt flats. Ill keep my eyes open and post flyers along the way. I have emailed local folks in San Junaico the flyer to post as well. Keep the hope alive! Baja is a big place with lots of areas still unchecked.

Has anyone done this at this checkpoint.
Southbound a few days ago they WERE writing down passport ID numbers as well as license plates.
If not, I can try and see if they'll check the license plate numbers for me in about 5 days on my northbound return.

All license plate numbers are written down for northbound vehicles only. (This was the first checkpoint open on our drive south.) We saw no fliers at any of the military checkpoints; nor at the gas stations we used, including Antonios, in El Rosario. I regret now we didn't carry a stack with us.

bryanmckenzie - 11-7-2013 at 10:09 AM

Yes, I did that southbound at Mama Espinoza's in El Rosario. No entries around the time he went missing all the until 11/3/13.

I got a u2u from Blanca regarding this possible Gary sighting and when I looked at this thread for the first time, it struck me that in the posted photo of Gary resembles a lot of guys who visit the San Juanico area. Very common appearance, age, lifestyle etc to see around here. I'm not trying to be funny but honestly, if he was wearing a hat i'd mistake him for at least 3 different ex-pats that hang around here and that's not counting visitors. 4 Runners are very common but the silver color and roof rack would set it apart from most of the older models here.

Unless he knows someone in town or befriended someone with a place here, he would mostly likely be/ or would have been in the campground. I checked at the campground today (Thursday, Nov 7) and didn't see his car. I've been exploring surrounding beaches more than usual over the past 2 weeks with visiting family and have not seen anyone camping in the remote areas either.

There are 3 "hotels" in San Juanico. The least expensive one is above the grocery store and his car would be very visible and I haven't seen it parked there. It's owned by a local family and I don't think they have internet. The other 2 hotels are gringo-owned (Google SJ hotels for contact info) and the family could contact them directly to inquire. Vacation rental homes aren't cheap here but you could try a couple of the vacation rental agents found online also to see if he asked about rentals.

If he's a skilled/experienced, (I hate to say it, but a "real, life-long surfer") he wouldn't have stayed here long because it's been a terrible summer, lots of people, and there haven't been real waves for many months. If he's more of a recreational or novice surfer, he might have been here a little while but there have been many days with no waves at all and it can get boring (and $$) to stick around here when it's flat.

I'm sorry but I live outside of town and rarely go to town or the town beaches/campground where you'll encounter most visitors so I'm not the best resource of who's coming and going and the latest haps. We will certainly keep our eyes open for him and the car and I'll see if there are already flyers at the gas stations and stores.

Thanks Oladulce ! Those were good points and thanks again for the input!

BajaBlanca - 11-8-2013 at 10:36 AM

SC2BAJA thanks for keeping an eye out in that area ! your first post and you are offering an important lifeline to Gary's family. Thanks muchissimo!

I've been following this since day one and maybe it's none of my business but everything seems to be going no where and it's a bit frustrating. Has any professionals or investigators been called in? Has the immediate family even been SOB looking? No offense intended but something seems way off to me. I know if one of my family members went missing I would have my ass down there looking and pull all resources to do it...

There is more going on in the background than is necessarily being reported here on the board.

That's all fine and well but don't these people have the respect and decency to inform everybody that was so concerned and wanted to help? Something is way wrong here, I sensed it from almost the beginning but held my tongue in the hopes of a happy resolution but it's not happening. Soooooooooooo, what exactly is going on here? Why's the family not beating the bushes SOB and exhausting all resources? Just curious....

My mother once said people have the right to leave their families. I always had a hard time with that, but after giving it some thought I understand apparently people do have the right to leave and not come back nor do thy have to say where they are going or when they are coming back.

motoged - 11-8-2013 at 05:45 PM

Hey....this issue isn't about the Baja Nomads forum....it's about a missing person.

"It's not all about you" kinda perspective is what I'm sayin'

SoCalPattonCrew - 11-8-2013 at 06:19 PM

The Patton Family has hired a private investigator in addition to family members traveling to Baja twice searching for our brother. When you accept help from generous people you also receive skeptical comments, just please realize we are doing the best we can and know that Gary's intention was not to be missing this long.

Completely understood and that's my point. This nonsense has been going on long enough, what's really going on here? It's a simple question that deserves an honest answer?

All the Patton family has done here is ask whether anyone has seen him. Nothing more.

Why do you feel as if they owe you something, or that you have the right to question their motives and actions?

Not to mention, there don't seem to be any "honest" answers as yet.

I do, however, understand the feelings of futility and frustration, but it ain't my call.

Flyers left at Playa Santispac Campground

bryanmckenzie - 11-10-2013 at 04:07 PM

Flyers left at Playa Santispac Campground in Bahia Concepcion, at check-in gate & restaurant. Santispac is the first campo heading south, coming down the grade. Also speaking my rudimentary Spanish with Mexicans and my English with Canadians / Americans that I come into contact with; not just dash-and-run. Trying to find additional "leads" or tips from people, filtering same through BS filter.

The family's investigator received a phone call from the campground host at Playa Santispac Campground, see above photo) who believes Gary stayed at the campground and he will search the log book for confirmation, he also indicated Gary's vehicle was damaged. He will be in touch with our investigator Tuesday for additional information. Thank you for posting the flyers in these areas !!!

absinvestor - 11-11-2013 at 11:31 PM

Hope the investigator is being truthful. No phone service (either landline or cell) at Santispac. Nearest is about 3 miles south of Mulege or 50 miles south near Loreto. Anna's has moved to operate Gecko's but there is one remaining restaurant at that beach. One would think that if Gary was at Santispac that he would have stopped into that one restaurant??

Thanks Dennis- that is good to know. The residents around Santispac, El Burro, Coyote and Mulege in general are very helpful and friendly. Everything points to Gary being an active talker and maybe he talked to some of the residents, restaurant owners etc.

bryanmckenzie - 11-12-2013 at 10:25 PM

The other day when I made this discovery, I thought my Spanish was good enough to convey that I would return today and like to see the registry book for that time period (they are small and appear to go only a few weeks before a new one is started). When I arrived and spoke with the woman (owner? operator?), and previously the two other gentlemen with her, all three indicated that they had seen Gary, the vehicle, the surfboard and the talkativeness the one night he stayed. Anyway, at 2pm today, when I arrived the registry book (includes license plates) was not there. It was in Mulege where they live.

It would be helpful if someone with fluent Spanish could speak with them and convey the desire to see the guest register.

Also, I (think) asked at the Loreto militay checkpoint if I could see older license plate log books after I gave the soldiers several flyers. The soldier writing things down indicated no, and another solder said I must "move on." Obviously, I didn't pursue he matter any further.

Another method ... I was in San Ignacio town square, saw a group of about 12 Gringos and went over, hand each a Spanish-version flyer, and asked them in their travels to either pass a flyer to someone or some locale and keep an eye out --- kind of multi-leve marketing.

Not necessarily Abs, I've been to Santispac a few times and never felt the urge to go into the restaurant. Just saying.

absinvestor - 11-15-2013 at 11:41 AM

bajadogs- you're probably right. I was just thinking that since Gary is a talker and the owner of that restaurant is many times sitting or standing outside Gary might have started a conversation.

EnsenadaDr - 11-16-2013 at 08:50 AM

If he was that friendly he might have befriended someone who then had designs on his truck and whatever money he had on his person.

To all you blessed folks of bajanomads, the Baja 1000 teams, tourists, residents, kind and giving good-hearted folks, families of lost ones as well: It's time for thanks-giving --

Our Patton family wants to thank you all once again today for staying so vigilant with us, making all your above-and-beyond efforts of pure generosity to help us search for Gary with your time, drive-arounds, stopping, checking, talking, making copies to distribute, spending your hours, gas, and dollars, helping us search for Gary. We here in California are nothing without your generous time and efforts. God-willing, a favor of this magnitude will grace your lives in return someday. I've always felt so strongly that what goes around comes around -- good deeds come back to you someday, somehow, maybe in other ways, and ways we cannot see. We cannnot always realize the connection, know where or how it comes back, but we have to trust that it does, and favorably. I want you all to know how much you have helped us though each and every day these agonizing months now, helping us keep the faith, hoping that this 'come &go-around' might be an exception so that we may still find a happy resolve soon.

Still trying to get the word out and around, and anything you are seeing, please report back to our site here or email us directly. If a person should suggest Gary looks familiar, please reassure them there is no authorities after him for any wrong-doing, no warrants, no violence, etc., he's just traveling alone, and not communicated back to his sons, his granddaughters, sisters and brothers for far too long. This is simply family missing their loved family member, nothing else. You 'nomads' are our only best advocates and spokesmen, so til we have some kind of communication with Gary, please continue to talk him up with your friends and acquaintances, and look for him and his 4Runner. Our hopes are unwavering still, and through the holidays, we have to persist and be relentless until we hear from Gary and know he is well.

Best regards for happy times to all of you and your families heading into this holiday season......
Patton family

BajaBlanca - 11-18-2013 at 03:07 PM

Happy thanksgiving and hopefully Gary is ready to head home for apple pie!

BajaLuna - 11-18-2013 at 03:23 PM

We saw flyers posted in El Rosario and also saw one posted at the little store in Catavina, the store that is located at the north end of town on the east side just past the person selling gas from the barrel on the side of the road. We also stopped and talked to 2 guys in Catavina who we had been following for manyyyy miles who were on motorcycles and they had just spent time in BOLA, we asked them to keep a look out for Gary and his truck as they headed back to the border...and they said that they had been as they had seen some flyers posted in BOLA as well.

Yes, lets hope the Patton Family is all together for Thanksgiving!

Keep hope alive, stay strong, Patton Family!

We'd like to ask for feedback on BajaTimes -- have any of you seen our "Missing Gary Patton" flyer in the current editions, both English and spanish? Is this publication available to you where you are? We're asking because this is a paid advertisement being run in this publication, and we want to ensure the word is getting thru to folks before we continue it.

Also, any of you that live and/or will visit LaPaz, we'd like to ask for help down there, posting the flyers and letting authorities, restaurants etc., know we're looking for him. There's a remote chance, due to family friends from Baja, he could have decided to drive there to attend a family event, especially if he did travel to San Juanico.

Again, thanks to all of you that have given so much attention and assistance to our efforts.

Between Mulege and Constituction and LaPaz, I don't think I've ever seen a Baja Times and I am a newspaper, local magazine junkie and been here full time over 7 years.

What is it?
Who publishes it?
When is it published - monthly?
Where?
Where do they distribute it?
How do they distribute it?

Should have asked these questions, maybe.

Tuesday nite we received a sighting report of Gary at a Rosarito beach from a very kind lady who is a resident and business owner in Rosarito with a home on this beach, occurring about a week ago. She had seen our flyer in the Ecos newspaper and felt it could've been him. Of great help we're hoping, is this kind lady's grandson who is an avid surfer and who will be helping us scope out the surf spots south of Rosarito. We are so grateful to folks who come forward with any information because it helps us map out either places we've missed or if it serves simply to help us keep the faith that we will find Gary. One thing to note that this lady helped us recognize: it's very important to convey to folks that Gary is not in any trouble, nor are the feds or authorities looking for him, this is strictly and absolutely a family missing their loved one who may be in trouble, and he simply has not been heard from in far too long a time by his caring family, who know he traveled alone and are fearful for him. We only ask to hear his voice on the phone, have him assure us he is okay, all is okay, and that is all.

For all nomads' information, the BajaTimes publishes online in english once every two weeks and their spanish version, Ecos, publishes weekly though I'm not sure if there's an online version of this one. Papers have been most kind in helping us publish our flyer information as well as other publications: the Gringo Gazette, El Vigio and El Mexicanos. When you folks are helping us spread the word, it may help to direct your friends and associates to these publications for Gary's photos of him and his car, and of course, most importantly, to our most useful website, bajanomad.com, for clear color photos and friendly, endearing support that has meant so much to us, the Patton family.

Staying vigilant ---- with strength from all of you folks every day.

BajaBlanca - 11-22-2013 at 09:26 AM

The gringo gazette is easily found in LaPaz and it is one of the first publications we look for when we head that far south.
It is also readily found in Ensenada in the hotel we stay at.

The rest of us in the middle of the peninsula don't seethe published form, we are too few residents, or there is no consistent delivery?

Ithink it is a very good idea to have flyers in it!

skipowell - 11-22-2013 at 09:01 PM

My husband just shared that he saw an article about Gary Patton in the BT as he is an avid surfer in the Rosarito area. Now he has made a connection, I shared this info weeks ago with him after seeing it on this site but it didn't connect. Maybe the newspaper ad will help bring in more people. Hopeful your family!

Mula - 11-23-2013 at 06:27 AM

There is the Sudcaliforniano newspaper also.

http://www.oem.com.mx/elsudcaliforniano/default.aspx

Which would get to the Spanish speaking community.

SoCalPattonCrew - 11-25-2013 at 04:20 PM

Dear Nomads:
We have dear family friends in Guerrero Negro that have a wedding coming up and the location is to be LaPaz. We are hoping and think it's possible, especially if some reported sightings of Gary as far as San Juancito are true, that Gary could be planning to drive there to attend and take pictures. He has attended family events with them before, just never so far south. We know it's a reach, but not impossible:

It's called Hacienda San Alfonso
nearby Ejilio San Pedro
supposedly in/near LaPaz

We found a beautiful estate on Facebook by this name but couldn't get precise directions to it. We'd like to ask all the nomads to be on lookout on the highways and in towns and beaches in Baja Sur in the event Gary has traveled toward there and/or is on his way there. You've all been our lifeline to hope for news and efforts, and we thank you all once again !

David K - 11-25-2013 at 04:31 PM

San Pedro is 14 miles south of La Paz on Hwy. 1...

DENNIS - 11-25-2013 at 04:39 PM

Has there been any activity on Gary's bank account since this started?
How long has this been going on now??

SoCalPattonCrew - 11-25-2013 at 04:53 PM

No Dennis, there hasn't been any activity in Gary's bank account, although we can not confirm how much money Gary started with when he went to Baja September 4th.

Going on three months. He must have had a bundle if that's how it went down.

You can see from David's map that San Pedro is south of La Paz, and just north of the Hwy 1 & Hwy 19 junction.

Hacienda San Alfonso is an event "salon" - specifically for special events. Here's more info:

And a Wikipedia blurb on San Pedro, BCS:

Thank you David K. for posting the map of Baja, specifically the La Paz area for the Dec. 7th wedding that Gary had received an invitation to attend. Anything that might help with the search and sighting of Gary is so appreciated.

BajaBlanca - 11-27-2013 at 03:49 PM

Thanks for the info, BB. I was just wondering since I can get it online.
I do miss the north edition though.

To the Patton Family—our thoughts are with you as you pass a major holiday with your family member still missing in Baja. Not knowing is a painful experience, and we all look forward to the day answers are found to Gary's mysterious and unexplained disappearance.

SoCalPattonCrew - 11-28-2013 at 01:38 PM

Our family will be together today sharing our Thanksgiving Dinner with prayers and thoughts of Gary. Thank you again to everyone that has offered assistance or a positive note, we are so grateful for your kindness. Wishing you a Thanksgiving filled with family and friends.

SoCalPattonCrew - 12-4-2013 at 04:04 PM

As we prepare for the Christmas holidays our family continues to be vigilant for any sightings or news of Gary. We have renewed the add showing Gary's missing flyer for Baja Times in hopes of receiving news. Thank you again for all that you have done for our family.

Marla Daily - 12-5-2013 at 06:31 AM

Today marks the beginning of the 4th month since Gary Patton went missing~last seen at Hotel Jardines when he checked out on Sept. 5.
Dozens of Nomads remain alert to his disappearance and keep an eye out for him and his silver Toyota. He is still in our thoughts and we personally will scan the highway yet again as we drive down to Loreto next week.

Help Gary: Green Angels? Playa Santispac?

bryanmckenzie - 12-9-2013 at 06:26 AM

Kim and I spoke at length yesterday about any updates and covered a number of topics and possibilities, providing her my belated verbal update.

(1) Gary did NOT show up at the wedding in San Pedro, S/o La Paz that he was invited to.

Just thinking out loud here.

(2) Green Angels would seem to be a viable option, just in case Gary had mechanical problems and sought their help. Like, AAA in the USA, if they were involved, they would have kept records. Also if he had significant driver side door damage and GA were somehow involved, perhaps they would note this. It seemed to us that if some Nomad that is fluent in Spanish could contact/call the GA "corporate office", explain (or fax) the situation, that perhaps headway could be made in checking records at "local offices." Yes, I know how it works in Baja. Not easy to do this. But perhaps a retired expat gringo near one of the major cities could volunteer to start the ball rolling --- if not already attempted, perhaps by contacting San Quentin tourism office director (speaks English) Tomas Guererro, 616.165.3645 --- to get a GA starting point.

(3) Kim confirmed that the only viable lead (hopefully true) was the supposed overnight camping Gary did at Playa Santispac / Bahia Concepcion, about one month after his disappearance. On my return North, I was not able to confirm paper records with the campground owners. Only current sign-in book is at the campground (contains licence plate, etc). The older books are kept at the owners' homes in Mulege. If a "local" Nomad could contact one of these three persons in fluent Spanish and request to accompany them to there home or offer a few pesos to retrieve the log and see it or some other method to look at the sign-in registry, it would offer positive confirmation that he was there and headed south. I hate that I could not complete this task 4 weeks ago.

I am K - Kim, and Elliott is my son, and we are Gary's immediate family -- SoCalPattons represent Gary's sister, brothers, nephews, cousins. May I just emplore your site folks, that all of Gary's family are trying desperately to reach Gary, to know he is okay, and doing so without a guide book. Learning we have no rights by law as to his whereabouts by the US government, no help from our cell phone provider (a dead end, please leave it, it's been exhausted), then limited in any hopes of reaching him otherwise, has been devastating for us WE've reached out to all our family, friends, and folks that know Gary referring them to your bajanomad site..so PLEASE consider your comments about our family when posting because we're trying not to drive folks away, but encourage input. There are many more viewers than contributors, and can we request some tolerance and empathy toward the family, since maybe, we're not following the textbook model of how a "missing person's family" is supposed to react, perform, and respond in this situation, nor on your forum here, but we're doing what we can with what we have and lack. Focusing on finding Gary is what we're hoping, praying for, with all your help and advice here.
We're doing our best, managing at our worst --
We're working on newspaper ads during the Baja 1000, and we've got a posting on Score 1000 now. We're also working to enlist desert angels, border angels, and green angels, -- nothing hurts to try. More of you that pass on the flyer, the urgency we're faced with, ANYTHING, word of mouth is our best, maybe our only weapon Please avoid judgements bout us and worst case scenarios, just help find Gary.

P.S.- If you know anyone in the La Chorera beach area, please forward them the flyer because that area, and again near Bahia de Los Angeles are perhaps the only places Gary may have been seen last ---and perhaps stranded; both these areas are legitimate places Gary could've gone.

Bless all of you for your kindest regards in our mission to find Gary,
Kimberly & Elliott Patton

Thank you, Bryan, for this extensive recap of this sighting near Concepcion. We so appreciate all this effort you took upon yourself to help us. Both Dan & Bryan have done so much, it's just unfathomable that we still have no information.

The links to Green Angels are helpful but I can't seem to get thru to speak to anyone. I just want to confirm whether they've received our flyer about Gary, and of course, if they can confirm any information about any accident report or vehicle identification.

Can any of you Nomads help us reach out to the Green Angels ???
If any of you know anyone associated with this group, I'd like to ensure that they have seen our flyer and have no record of his vehicle. I was told by the Tourism board and the Embassy early on in this ordeal that they informed Emergency roadside services of our situation, but I'd like to reaffirm that since so much time has gone by since then.

Perhaps if someone contacts the 666 emergency roadside number, we could at least ask whoever answers if they've seen this flyer or if we could get an email address to send them the flyer. Maybe even get us a direct dial number, I'll call from here to try to talk to someone, or I'll pass along to a spanish speaking person at the turismo.

Again, the current Baja Times and Ecos (Spanish) have the flyer with the license plate number enlarged.
(All our contact numbers and email are on the flyer to reach us).

Every little bit helps … thanks to all! They say, where there's a will, there's a way …

Justbozo - 12-12-2013 at 01:21 PM

Just want you to know that on our drive down Sunday and Monday from Tecate to Mulege we watched and checked what we could, but saw nothing. I saw no posters either. Checked the register book at Mama Espinozas, very few sign ins since Bryan was there, but no Gary. I will keep watching. Keep up the faith!

renebruz - 12-12-2013 at 09:04 PM

I have to say, that I just spent 19 days in Baja, from Ensenada all the way down to Loreto ( twice to Loreto) even saw Shari in Bahia Asuncion, stopped in Santa Rosalia, Mulege, CoCo's corner, Ganzaga Bay ( not Bahia Los Angeles), San Ignacio, San Felipe, Colonet, Catavina, Punta Abrejos ( drove back road along power lines, up to Asuncion) even San Basilio backroads, and never saw a flyer, or any type of older gringo broke down... Any flyers that get posted prob get blown off fairly quickly, I went down Nov 15 and left Dec 3, I even drove down into El Coyote and Santispec and saw nothing.. message Mark at BuenaVentura his bar seams to have many people stop in https://www.facebook.com/PlayaBuenaventura I would also for sure try to get someone to post a flyer at Coco's corner as that place gets many people that take dirt roads versus many other places that people are more paved travelers... maybe Gary is the dirt road type like me and others... Keep looking don't give up !

SoCalPattonCrew - 12-14-2013 at 08:13 PM

Thank you so much to you who are making these trips and reporting back. Can't tell you how much we hang on even the slightest words of anything happening so far away.

Any word on calling 666 down there to Green Angels anyone?

Best wishes for good holidays, and safe travels ....

SoCalPattonCrew - 12-16-2013 at 08:46 PM

"Want to update our readers that although we had a report of Gary possibly being in San Quintin area around the 19th of November, it was a case of mistaken identity, it was Michael, Gary's oldest son, that had gone down that week for a few days, and he hooked up with Fernando from Jardinis. So the owner of Jardinis had the story wrong, it wasn't actually Gary, but Michael Patton, that Fernando met.
We sure appreciate though all you kind folks making efforts to help us try to find Gary. I'm sure that when we do find him, it will either be because of you all or the flyers you've all posted that'll lead us to him. Remember, even the smallest lead can be the one speck of information that leads us to him, so please don't hesitate to share. Again, we are mostly wanting to just hear Gary's voice on the phone, no one's going down there to drag him home. We just need to know he's okay and tell us how he's having the time of his life. I think this is important to tell business owners and restauranteurs, who may be suspicious of getting involved in cases like this.
So bless you all, and keep the faith…thank you for continually checking in."

.....I can't imagine the torture you folks are going through.

Very good post, micah. I couldn't have said it better. I think you are right on, resolution is the answer at this point.

Hoping that Gary is wanting to go home for Christmas!

SoCalPattonCrew - 12-24-2013 at 03:41 PM

Hoping all you Nomads have wonderful, happy holidays. And, we'd like to do a special shout-out to Blanca, who has been such a dear, helping us establish communications, follow up on emails, directions, etc.,so much, much more. Thank you all, and may each of you be blessed in special ways for the kind wishes you've extended to us during these times.

Feliz Navidad!

EnsenadaDr - 12-24-2013 at 04:06 PM

She really has, most people here just want to help, though it might come across otherwise. I am so sorry there has been nothing for your family to come to a conclusion or a resolution. Prayers for Gary that wherever he may be he is happy and in peace. May God Bless him.

SoCalPattonCrew - 12-26-2013 at 05:44 PM

To our fellow BajaNomadians:
We've had another sighting report in Rosarito Beach again, but it is from about a month ago. Resident from there says he saw a similar looking vehicle with a red surfboard hanging out the rear window, along side the road, up on a curb, and seeming somewhat nervous and agitated. When the resident returned back on the same road, the police and Red Cross were there, attending to the driver in his vehicle. He mostly only remembered from the surfboard, and seeing the current BajaTimes paper today.

So we are reaching out to our contacts in Rosarito Beach, hopefully we can confirm the license plate or Gary as the driver. If so, we would send some folks down there again, but of course, we want to ask for all your folks invaluable help in passing along our request to keep a hard lookout, and possibly talk around town to vendors, restauranteurs, gas stations, etc. to keep our strong lookout forces on-the-job, so to speak, for us right now.

We are going to work on getting a few more pictures out there as well, because he may have a beard and mustache now, longer hair, be more tan, etc. Send us your email address via messaging, and we'll cc you those pics.

Thank you all in advance for helping us keep the faith, and remaining vigilant…
Best Regards, and Happy Christmas & Happy New Year to you all!

Kgryfon - 12-26-2013 at 07:16 PM

Can you check with the Red Cross?

SoCalPattonCrew - 12-26-2013 at 08:43 PM

Yes, we have checked with the Red Cross for that area and they show no contacts matching the information for the Rosarito Beach sighting. We currently are trying to make contacts with resources in the Rosarito Beach for confirmation. We are very appreciative of any additional information anyone can supply.

BajaBlanca - 12-26-2013 at 09:09 PM

Merry Christmas Kim and All the Pattons. So sad that Gary has not called home....Thanks for your kind words and I wish I could do more.

24baja - 12-27-2013 at 11:05 AM

We made the trip from Tijuana to Bahia De Los Angeles and did not see his vehicle or and posters at our stops. Sorry he has not contacted you as yet. Keep the Faith. Connie & Brett
