1. Still no gas in Bahia (LA) "maybe in a couple of weeks"
The guys across the street still pump $3 gas and we were happy to get some.
Asked "what happens when the Pemex opens?"
"We lock up and quit!"
2. Catavina pumps are wrapped up and look like they have been wrapped for some time. The guy across the street was not to be found and I was nervous
on a quarter tank to El Rosario (although we did have some gas in the boats if needed)
Someone said that the Motel Linda just north of the station had gas "around back" but did not check it out.
3. I have a warning light lit up on my dash which the manual says is either from running out of fuel or getting bad fuel. First time that I have had
such a problem. The manual sez a couple tanks of quality gas should turn off the light, hope so.

how was the fishing? will be going down for the yellow tail contest at the end of may.

Caught lots of "eating fish" but nothing in the trophy categories.
They are really gearing up for the yellowtail contest.
Our week was pretty dead, both as to visitors and as to big fish.
Caught mostly those cod type "bucket mouth", sculpans (big ones), bay bass, and one day far north got into a big school of ladyfish. They were nice
size and real scrappers, set up some lighter gear and really went to town for an hour.
Tried for grouper, big squid and yellowtail but did not connect.
First couple of days was a lot a wind, then it calmed down.
Actually, El Almirante is our resident fisherman, maybe he can be persuaded to add some fishing thoughts.

Yep, El Almirante came through with a much better report on fishing than mine, was apparently typing at the same moment as I.
Check the Baja Fishing section for his post.
(El A is our fishing specialist - Baja Vida and I just carry the bags.)
