I have mixed feelings about breeding sled, or track dogs as a business. While it could wind up with cases of abuse or neglect, the un-happy dogs
would mainly be the ones left in the kennel while the rest of the pack gets to run!
I greatly appreciate the efforts of the volunteers who foster and re-home retired dogs! I may join the effort in the future, but blending a greyhound
into the lifestyle I share with a 10 year old, long legged bully breed would be risky.BajaBlanca - 7-30-2024 at 01:25 AM
I bet they get adopted quickly, they are gorgeous.pauldavidmena - 7-30-2024 at 05:08 AM
Greyhound Friends is an excellent rescue organization in the Boston metro area that rehomes "retired" racing dogs. I have a friend who has adopted
several, who have made wonderful pets.bajadogs - 7-30-2024 at 07:37 AM

Hi Blanca, my daughter has 2 of them now, Kirby and Lucky Boy. Both from Caliente. They are home now on a quick break from school. They are amazing
dogs. There is an appointment today. We will see what happens.

Sadly lots of Greyhounds end up as cadavers at vet schools.bajadogs - 7-30-2024 at 03:20 PM

Yes. Don't search the internet too much to find out what happens to the majority of greyhounds who are not good enough to compete. There is a reason
the younger dog is named Lucky Boy.
