I've been following Patrulla ever since the surfer murders. One of the latest reports is a big cartel-involvement arrest around Colonet. Also, a
report of people "stranded" in Sierra San Pedro Martir.
Can you elaborate more about 'San Pedro Mártir'. Links perhaps? What happened up there?
The link in wilderone’s post work fine. Click link, scoll down for story (not much to the story. A person was unhappy their guide would not move
them during a storm, so they called someone to complain and perhaps request “rescue”)AKgringo - 8-11-2024 at 10:04 AM

My Spanglish is not good enough to follow that thread.
Fb has translate buttons below posts and comments. Easy peasy.
I do not have a Facebook account, and could not find any buttons to click for a translation. I did manage to bring up a translation by right clicking
on the "facebook" logo at the top left side of the page.
It does sound like someone is protesting that when they wanted to leave, the company responsible for their safety took responsibilty for their safety
and said "Not yet!"cupcake - 8-11-2024 at 02:36 PM
It can often be safer to wait for an improvement in conditions before descending.
Google translate provides this:
ENSENADA, BC.- Due to a strong storm, a family was trapped this Saturday in the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir National Park
It turned out that tonight a woman reported to the emergency line that they were stranded in the Sierra de San Pedro Mártir, in the south of
Ensenada.
The woman indicated that they were trapped due to a strong storm, while the Total Adventure company, which transported them, refused to descend until
conditions improved.
After this, they notified the Municipal Civil Protection Unit of Ensenada, an area in which they would coordinate with the Civil Protection of San
Quintín.

I did not see a link when I first read this post on my phone... Now, on my PC, I see it... and I also apreciate the other Nomads for their input.
Here is the English of the Facebook post:
>>>Family trapped in San Pedro Martir after strong storm

HERE are some replies (translated for Nomads):
Borris Ñol
The best they could do is better stay in the reception area as they are prepared for such conditions and have supplies
Hugo Rangel
Everybody complaining about the company's shares... it's golden rule of anyone who knows about rough areas that the worst you can do in a natural
event is to move unless someone is seriously injured, people are more likely to die if you try to walk through a natural event than if you stay still
until I finish.
JL PV
Both the company and them were bad and the fact that they want to move (possibly without weather appropriate equipment) in the middle of a storm is
stupid, you have to see the reasons why the company staff refused to move.
Remember that the return is pure downfall and possibly without proper expertise could be risky.
Amador Luis
Me too, in my pickup, I would wait until the weather gets better. The fainting caused by spontaneous thunderstorms on terrace can be a disaster.
Yolanda Granados Yanez
But for the safety of all you have to wait for the conditions to improve, the bad ones got, and you have to wait
DiianiSs López
The company is right, for the safety of all, it's better to stay alert until the weather improves and especially on those roads that many know how to
get when it rains, it's a rampage and you run the risk of getting stuck halfway
Ale Lo
Why are they complaining?
Because the company is looking out for your safety?
Regardless of the complaints they are making. Who by the way want to solve everything by Facebook, wonder how it still works? Well for the people who
do not go to the relevant department to present their complaint, demand or complaint
.. Ivonne Leon
Ale Lo If complaints have been made in the corresponding departments and to what I have understood have not been 1 or 2, already have several, however
the authority still does nothing to close its tour operator, in the groups of campers knows that Marcos Tapia, owner total adventure is not reliable,
complaints and experiences that have been had with total by Facebook can also help warn people who are not aware of this and looking to go to SPM or
any other destination and encounter people like him, scammers.
Regarding that the company is looking out for their safety, it is also their responsibility to monitor the climate they will go to, so that from the
beginning they do not endanger their campers.
..Ale Lo
Ivonne Leon this is weird but anyway.
..Tacho Rosas
Ivonne Leon sounded personal the thing, no one is a witch I have experience in camping and I assure you that those are adventures are not unprotected
are not alone it's just a matter of enjoying the landscape patience and you will have a story to tell so younger we do not carry women but well I pull
his will go!!! Beautiful Sunday.
..Ivonne Leon
Tacho Rosas is not personal, however I know several people who unfortunately fell into the scam of this person and enough with the simple fact of
searching Total Adventure and encounter bad experiences and news in which they have been wrapped, they as "company" offer a supposed safe of a
traveller (which they don't make valid). Be better than nothing which is to go enjoy nature, believe me I do and I also like camping a lot, however it
is of utmost importance from a principle not to risk the life of other people, so in very important to take into account the environmental factors
that are being exposed to and let them know to the people who hire them, one has knowledge that at these dates is rainy season in SPM and are not
light rains as in the city, however also many people do not know that, it is not a matter of to be a witch or not, there are many applications with
which you can see how you will be in the weather and thus avoid these kinds of situations, whether you cancel or rescheduled your dates.
..Tacho Rosas
Ivonne Leon Here is a metereology station nor with that they are attached to the weather relax if those people are not conformed there is Profeco or
the MP for damage repair if there were them? And carry the agreement that is signed I also think that it stipulates the responsibilities of each
person there. And if there's no bad bad to proceed.4x4abc - 8-12-2024 at 09:11 AM
I found that it is not the translation capability of various apps - our Mexican friends (especially the ones in Baja) use language in a less
structured way than we do. They can't get a point across. I have given up reading anything in Mexican Spanish, because I have not been able to make
sense of their word vomit - even when I try really hard. Some of the news outlets are kinda OK, but far away from easy. BajaNaranja - 8-12-2024 at 11:44 AM

Actually, people in general seem to have forgotten how to communicate effectively, in any language.
A year ago I put up an ad looking for a housesitter. Got a lot of responses right away. At least 50% of them consisted of nothing more than "Hi. I saw
your ad."
Another 25% hadn't troubled themselves to read the info provided, thinking I just needed someone to drop by once or twice a day to feed the cat.
Finally got an appropriate response- the guy introduced himself, said he had just gotten to town a week earlier, that he'd be happy to trade a free
place to live for housesitting chores, said he had been housesitting in another part of Mexico, gave me the homeowner's name and phone number for a
reference.

FWIW, if you click the timestamp of each post, you're then able to get a direct link for each individual post/story/etc one wants to share.
Watching a video that coverts the audio to sub-titles can be weirdly entertaining. On one I watched recently, a chainsaw was quoted as saying "the
the the the the the the the the the".
I wonder what the sub-titles would have been if the audio was also translated to Spanish?
