It's a cruise port stop. There are a few excursions offered that aren't that appealing: fruit plantations (interested in that), but coupled with a
brick factory and salt flats (not so much). Lots of beaches that I can get to by bus, but in December might be a bad beach day. So Q: Does anyone
know what is offered at the cruise port? Are there tours offered? (Like Cabo - vendors with signs). Online info appears outdated (2011).

Nothing recent, but I spent a couple of week in Melaque in 2008. It is just north of Barra de Navidad, and a very pleasant place to be. The mix of
clean beaches between steep rocky hillsides with coral on the reefs makes for great snorkeling.
I am not a surfer, but the beaches around there (especially south of Manzanillo) tend to be pretty brutal shore breaks.
A little further north from Barra de Navidad is a beach town called La Manzanilla, where you can have a c-cktail while watching crocodiles on the
beach or just offshore, or in the swamp just inland from there.
