Sharing more of my work on the Baja Road Guide

This past week, as a birthday gift for my fellow Baja amigos, and to share my work while I am still alive (!)... just kidding... I have added more pages of my unpublished Road Guide for you enjoyment or travel planning.

The road guide was created from my notes while traveling so extensivsly in 2017 & 2018 for Baja Bound Insurance to record GPS and photos of points of interest for their online, interactive map: https://www.bajabound.com/map/

While traveling, I made road log notes then put them into a format I found to be very user-friendly with points of interest or side roads located using the kilometer markers. On roads without the markers, I use odometer mileages. Photos are along the page edge at or near their description on the road log. I was inspired by this style from the 1970 Cliff Cross Baja Guide. I also created maps to show the roads and point named in the guide.

As Baja Nomad has been my 'Baja family' for the past 22 years, I have been sharing all my progress with you... which helps me as well, because many of you are quick to point out my typos and other errors, be it just a few, which I do appreciate because I want the guide to be accurate!

This sampling of my pages are still not a final, ready to publish version. It has just come a point in time, after waiting six years, to let you see more. The road guide (I made) was done in 2018, given to Baja Baound as a thank you for their sponsoring my 2017-2018 travels and many years of sponsored writings and their advertising in my Land of Missions book. Baja Bound, you rock!

Hoping for the book to be published in 2019 or maybe 2020, as they hired a 'professional' person to make the guide look great... then Covid came, so with a halt to travel or reduced amount of travel, 2022 looked like would finally be the book's year. In the meantime, I have been updating it with changes we read or heard about, as well as trip I took with TMW, elcomadanteloco, XRPhil, and others to Mission Santa María and Gonzaga Bay to see the completed Highway 5 and our last visit with Coco.

The book's covers were made but I have never seen any of the inside work...
2023, nada... and now 2024 is 3/4 over. I am not getting any younger, and Baja fans just can't wait forever! The person sort of vanished... bummer.

I hope the book does get printed and even though it is 6 years old, much of the data remains useful, with my updates. I recently heard the guy reappeared? I am just tired of waiting... I worked very hard on this and I want a few more people to enjoy my efforts. I turned 67 last week and my eyes, memory, and other things are no longer 100%. Getting old sucks!

This is not a final version, but it is what I am sharing... You are still welcome to criticize or commend the work... and if you see a typo or error, I still would like to know. I did see the word 'the' where it wasn't needed in a quick reading, yesterday. If I find that again, I will remove it, lol!

Most of Baja norte is now shared, just Valle Chico (west and south of San Felipe to Matomí) and the L.A. Bay road and on to Punta San Francisquito is not yet included. Just a few side trip logs in Baja Sur are included...
