Everyone is still tired from the La Paz north run from last year.

What are your plans, Jim? Chase, watch, kick back?
Great map, by-the-way!

Thanks, David, no chasing or spectating this year. I'll attempt to stream the race during a UAL flight, but experience suggests I won't be successful.

Bueno suerte to all competitors -- be safe!

Anybody have a link to the tracking live real time tracking?

Yesterday in Ensenada a a racer was at a pre-race, driving at walking speed in a crowded pedestrian pre-race area, and revved his engine, shooting his race truck forward and killing 2, injuring several others... what is it about grown men that they insist on revving engines? Do they really think they are cool?
I would hope they cancel the race out of respect for the dead.

Where are they cutting across the 1 to the 5 between race mile 380-400?
Anyone have a zoom in on that section?

PaulW - 11-15-2024 at 09:43 AM

2 dead, 1 critical, 10 injured
In the inspection line. Trophy truck slammed in to a 16 and 10 car and all the folks standing between the rigs.
Very sad

That is the La Turquesa Grade that meets hwy 5 near Coco's new Corner.

On YouTube is live, in race car video. Search Baja 1000 and see Score link.

What time will the fastest motorcycle and trucks return to Ensenada?

David K - 11-15-2024 at 06:14 PM

16-18 hours from their start time, is my guess. Watching live on YouTube now, as it just got dark and thise blazing lights are on. It is a 'coarser' course than usual, so maybe longer. They have 36 hours to finish.

So you are saying that the race course is coarse?

David K - 11-16-2024 at 10:41 AM

Luke McMillin is the unofficial overall winner, in a Trophy Truck.
