A very handsome man. He had great courage to find the new world.

I'm very proud to have grown up in a city named after him.

Courage to find the new world?

Indigenous peoples found the new world over 10,000 years before columbus. And vikings and Polynesians visited the new world long before columbus.

In 2018, the city of Columbus opted not to observe the federal holiday that honors its controversial namesake.

And yet now many people are unable to drive across town without the assistance of navigation.

Columbus and his crew had huge juevos.

I was wondering, since there were known direct descendants of Columbus to compare DNA to, couldn't they have tested the known descendants long ago to determine Columbus' ethnicity?

All those who made that kind of voyage were courageous, including Columbus and his crew. In addition to the groups previously listed, I seem to remember the Chinese being mentioned as possibly reaching the Americas, pre-Columbus, as well.

People who are against celebrating what Columbus did seem to be unhappy with the present and not keen on embracing the future.
