Hotel El Parador at the bay of LA turnoff

My last driving trip to Ligui in September I stopped to checkout the hotel
I met Lucy the owner and manager and she gave me a tour of the hotel. I was impressed on how nice the rooms are. They have done an excellent job on the decor for each room. Super clean and everything was brand new. Tried out the beds and they are high quality.

Had lunch at the restaurant and enjoyed the food.

Lucy was very friendly and is really happy with the way the work had turned out on the property. She is working on making the desert side of the hotel away from the road a nice relaxing area to sit and enjoy the outside

Next trip down I will be planning a stay there to breakup the trip south

Thanks for sharing. I've never even thought to stop and check it out. I'll be passing there Sunday I think and perhaps will make a stop for some food.

That building, next to the gas station pumps, was the parador cafeteria and AC cooled rest area for travelers to take a break from driving. The building had showers for travelers, as well.
Other paradors for transpeninsular travelers were at Cataviña, South San Quintín, 28° Parallel (Eagle monument/ state border), and San Ignacio. The same building cafeteria and floor plan, sunken floor rest area. They were placed at those locations because in 1973-74, there was no local services to care for travelers in those numbers. In fact, there was nothing at Cataviña, just limited service at nearby Santa Ynez (Inés).
