Looking for recommendations for car insurance while in Baja, would like to get comments from people who have had to file a claim and hear how it went.
Thx

I think we are best to have the insurance in force before entering Mexico... The friend of Baja Nomad Forums and whose owner is member here would be
www.bajabound.com the oldest online Mexican auto insurance business selling the top-rated brands, and you can get the repairs made in the USA, if
you prefer.Tommy A - 2-12-2025 at 03:58 PM

Been buying my Mexican insurance through the Vagabubdos del Mar for longer than I wish to remember! Had 2 incidents which were handled quickly and
professionally. Very satisfied with the results.JDCanuck - 2-13-2025 at 09:00 AM
We used the Baja Bound site to get insurance before we entered Mexico, had our truck damaged by another driver, filed a claim in San Felipe, and had
it repaired in La Paz after we arrived. Everything went very well, including a rental for up to 20 days (we only used it for 11 days) supplied by the
insurer while the truck was being repaired. Sorry, but I can't remember the actual insurers name, may have been Chubb.David K - 2-13-2025 at 04:19 PM
Chubb and HDI are the two.bajatrailrider - 2-13-2025 at 06:11 PM
Dont know what others charge now I only have Lability ins. As all old trucks cars if I remember 120.00 a year. Any us plated car or truck two driver

depending how many trips you make a year you'll find you might be better off buying a yearly policy from a Mexican broker...both Bernies or MyBaja are
good choices.David K - 2-14-2025 at 11:57 AM

Baja Bound, Discover Baja, and Ride Baja all sell Mexican company insurance (HDI, Chubb) and have 6 month and 12 month policies... which indeed are
far cheaper than daily policies if you travel more than 3 weeks a year, in Mexico.
They all can give you free online quotes to compare. Discover Baja is a travel club, so discounted rates but you must join the club.bajatrailrider - 2-14-2025 at 01:59 PM

I am speaking about Full coverage, not only liability. Again, who wants the cheapest if you staying out of jail depends on the adjuster or the
provided legal aid showing up... lol
Anyway, just go online now and compare.bajatrailrider - 2-14-2025 at 06:04 PM
I have legal aid ? something you dont know David INs.or not . Guy jumps off bridge you hit him . You go to jail no matter INS. till they figure it
out. My Toyota had full coverage 350.00 a year
