This waterfront restaurant came highly recommended by some locals at San Lucas Cove as well as Brenda at the Casitas. It is located across the street
from the original Pemex (there is a new Pemex being constructed at the north end of town).
I have to say the recommendations are justified. Food was very good with big portions for reasonable prices. Pescado in any form with all the fixings
was 5-6.00US. Many types of steaks as well. Also open for breakfast but we did not make it there for that, as we are fishermen.
The deal of the day (or any day) has to be the ceviche appetizer. For 5.00US, you get an oval plate about 12 inches across piled about 3 inches high
with ceviche. Comes with chips and the usual Mexican saltines. Nothing fancy, but good and an amazing quantity. It appears they may make it to order
as both times we ordered it, it took about a half hour to get it.
In fact, service overall was pretty slow.......not quite Mama Espinoza-slow, but close. But with that view, who cares? On both visits, we had to flag
down the waiter to place another drink order, even though the place was pretty empty. The help can usually be found watching the big screen at one end
of the building.
A few things on the menu are apparently seasonal.........like the 5-6 different types of tequila listed on the menu. Jimador was all they had when we
were there....not our favorite. Steer clear of the house style margaritas unless you like them carbonated. But their traditional rocas con sal style
was VERY good.
Also seasonal was the 11.00US lobster done in several styles. Very disappointed that wasn't available.
Nice outside seating with a view of the lighthouse and the harbor.
All in all, I tasted pescado empanizado (jurel), camarones al mojo de ajo, bistec mexicana and the ceviche. All very good.
I'd rate it "3.5 tenedores" out of five; only the service and the lack of items on the menu holding it back.
They are claiming hours of "7:30 or 8:00am" (their words) to eleven at night! They were still open at 9:30pm on a Tuesday when we left.

WOW! Since the place changed hands what a difference. The ba?os are absolutely immaculate. And the kitchen is neat and clean.
Food portions generous, prices in proper range and served appetizingly.
The service could be a bit better, I will make a suggestion to the owner that the help find something else to watch than the large screen TV.
Overall, this rates better than 3.5 tenedores, try 4 or 4.25. Only lack is the service.
Agreed on 4.0 tenedores

But also ask them to stock more of the tequilas they list on the menu. Jimador is only OK, IMB. Sauza products rock!
They were also missing several beers on the menu, including my fav por la cena; Negra Modelo. What's up with that?.....there's a distribudor in town!
