Is there a map of Diesel location in BAJA? I searched and could not find one. Sorry if this has been asked before.

diesel available at most all of the primary gas stations, available in all of the principal towns/cities.
what area are you worried about finding diesel?

Not worried. just wanted to lay out a fuel plan of sorts

You could tell us where you are going and what highways you plan to drive. ;)

It would be faster and easier to tell you where there is NO diesel.
Hwy 1, Top off in El Rosario.
Hwy 5, Top off in San Felipe.
It would be hard to run out if you did that. Excluding off road exploring.

Remembering my '86 F-250 gas and the extra fuel cans strapped to the truck so we (I) could rest easy going the back way. Never passing an open station with under 1/2 tank. Good times.

In 1999 I got my first 7.3 and it came with 550+ range.

Then gas stations started multiplying. Glory days.

Haven't been in 3+ years, but I always had 10+ gals of gas or diesel extra in the back of the truck. Now days chatolj's response is about right. Top off in those locations and whenever you are at a half or less. If you want to go off road --carry extra--always.

It is best to cross into Baja with empty cans and fill them at a Mexican station. Most of the time, the border agents don't really look at my stuff, but a full can of fuel could be confiscated, or additional fees or fines added to import it.

Yes, I forgot to mention to cross with empty containers. I always filled them up at my first fuel stop--usually around Ensenada.
