I have the need for boat insurance and looking for a carrier. Who has a Mexican policy for their boat in Baja? I would normally not get it, but to get
a slip in San Felipe, the guy said I needed coverage. Like with car insurance, most US companies do not cover Mexico.

Right above your post is a green banner for "Baja Bound" insurance
Not only are they good Nomad supporters, but really food people to work with
My suggestion is browse the site,
If you need it short term it is simple
If you have a more complex issue just give them a call
They will come right to your side to help you out
Been using them for more years than I can count, never a glitch.

I did see the banner and knew about them, so went ahead and got a quote. For 44 days it was $380, and for 1 year $270 for a 24 foot powerboat. Wonder
why cheaper for longer period? Got it anyway, so thanks.

That validates my experience with them exactly
Sorry, I should have mentioned checking out the full year coverage.
My son lives in Guadalupe pretty much full time, running his home for boys coming out of orphanages
He gets a one year policy and I am always amazed at how cheap it is compared to what i pay for just a week or ten days
Glad it worked out, and really happy to hear the Baja Bound came through for you.

There is a huge difference in insurance over the last two years. Make sure you have theft on your boat. This is hard to find and is expensive. If
your boat is not worth much, no issues. But most insurance carriers do not offer theft as a protection.

Last time I checked boat coverage in Mexico is liability only unless you can find a carrier who offers hull coverage.
