Tecate Restaurant gets high marks!

TheSquarecircle, and others have raved about Casa Vieja in Tecate... A few weeks ago we all had breakfast there before our off road trip over the hills to Cantamar from Valle de las Palmas... It was very good! The owner Victor and Leticia welcome Baja Nomads to dine at their establishment and Leticia speaks perfect English to assist in your selections.

TheSquarecircle returned the other day and got business cards and directions, which he gave me at the Pyramid Resort, last Saturday...

From the border at Tecate, turn west on Av. Benito Juarez (main road by park) and pass the Pemex... turn south on Calle Eufasio Santana then west again on Blvd. Oscar Baylon Chacon... the restaurant is on the right/ north side of the street #1250. Phone # (665) 654-2070

I hope to have dinner there tomorrow evening on our way to Guadalupe Canyon hot springs... another Baja 'hot' spot to show Elizabeth! I will post how dinner was...

Here are both sides of their business cards, thanks to Roy 'TheSquarecircle' for them!

David what style of food did they serve?

David K - 4-28-2005 at 11:57 PM

Mexican food, Bruce... We had breakfast and I usually have chorizo and eggs, and did there... others had their house special omlette, as well as hot cakes (pan cakes). The fresh squeezed OJ was great, as it usually is in Mexico!

I will let you know about dinner, if we eat there tomorrow night.

Yeah DK...
I needed that.
Rumbling through T-Town, I never know what to do for food.
Any other Tecate touts would be appreciated.
I'd tour the beer plant with Pappy, but I doubt they keep enough back stock for him.

In related news, after a long trip south, I'm always crashing the Border trying to get to the best pie in San Diego: the original Filippi's Pizza Grotto in Little Italy.
