Netflix series takes place in TJ

BajaBlanca - 7-10-2025 at 01:04 PM

Yesterday, we started watching a very fun series on Netflix called THE GRINGO HUNTERS. Based on a real police group that hunts and finds mostly Americans and returns them to the US. It is so fun to see TJ, a city which we know so well.

Watching it now.
Better as it goes along but really like it.

I liked The Bridge too.
Border town series in the early 2010's.

And El Mariachi - the series was Excellent!

How does it portray Tijuana? All Zona Norte and slums, or are there Zona Rio and upscale neighborhoods in there too?

Shows all parts of TJ.
About a team of agents who recover bad gingos operating on both sides of the border - and return them to the US.

Sorry to report I tried watching it and couldn’t tell what was worse the script or the acting. Best watched with the sound muted to see TJ.

3rd episode on it gets better.
Pretty rough the 1st 2 episodes.

Is it broadcast in English? I don't get Netflix, so I was not able to check it out.

Edit; Never mind, I found the trailer, in English!

Saw it all this week. It was good and showed TJ even the really bad areas where I have been but will never go back to. Even the police won't gp to some of these areas.......

Great cop drama. Binged watched it over several evenings… best in original spanish, with subtitles.

Cops miraculously shot dead untold numbers of bad hombres, with relatively few casualties….

Hi all,

Sorry I never saw these messages.

May she RIP

We saw the series in English. I thought it was very interesting - the good the bad and the very ugly.
