Tourist Tax?

David Nuevo - 8-14-2025 at 05:45 PM

I'm hearing about an "Embrace Baja" fee for foreign visitors to Los Cabos, La Paz, Loreto, or Mulegé, and that land crossings from the U.S. remain unaffected. So, does that mean business as usual driving in with my FMM?

If one is going no further south than GN, will this new proposed? tax for Baja Sur be extracted for vehicles on the road?

Thanks to all Nomad Baja lovers.

There are at least three other roads into Baja Sur besides Mex 1. This tax won't work as proposed. Easy to tack onto airline tickets, however.

Guerrero Negro is in Baja Sur. So, that makes Laguna Manuela the furthest south, on the Pacific side.

Thanks David, that was precisely why I asked.

Maybe there will be an allowance if a road traveler is not going further south than GN.

Whatever, the trip is worth it. Every time.
