I used the search function for this question but couldn't find the old thread about ULSD in Baja Sur and the most recent topic was from 12/2024.
Whats the current availabilty of ULSD south of Jesus Maria? Anyone on the forum have first hand experience driving your less than 5 year old diesel
truck into Baja Sur?

You could try mixing your tank instead of running it dry while you can still buy ULSD In Baja [norte]
I thought there was a post somewhere about a few Baja Sur stations that were carrying ULSD.
My 06 diesel Sprinter runs on it all and why I bought an 06 model year in 2010.
Maybe that Baja Sur diesel fuel notice was on the Sprinter van forum. You do not have to sign on or sign up to view the postings.
You can stretch that last ULSD tank far with some timely fill ups. Others have reported doing the same with no problems.

Baja Sur being ultra-low sulfur diesel (ULSD) as of late 2020 or 2021, according to anecdotal and lab-tested evidence. While official confirmation is
difficult to obtain from Pemex, the national fuel provider, the low sulfur levels confirm the widespread use of ULSD in the region.
Why is this the case?
Refinery Upgrades: The local refinery has been upgraded to produce ULSD fuel, making it the only type of diesel available in the area.

We’re caravaning with two other Ford trucks towing large 5th wheels so we’ll be going through multiple tanks of fuel while in B.C.S.
I appreciate the google search answers but I’m looking for first hand accounts of people running newer (2020+) diesels on B.C.S. fuel.

You ask for the last 5 years of model trucks and cannot help you there.
I have a 2011 F350 6.7. It requires ULSD, has the DEF system and still has factory exhaust regeneration system. It requires the same fuel, ULSD, as
newer models.
The big difference is in ULSD diesel fuel today vs then is the increased use of bio-fuels in the diesel blends today. That is actually a good thing as
the biofuel component increases lubricity which many feared was lacking in the original ULSD fuel.
I have used my truck for extended times in BCS burning through multiple tanks of BCS purchased fuels. Never had a problem and I still have the
original exhaust systems in place with over 340,000 miles on the odometer.
Its your truck and your call. There are RV forums where this subject is discussed thoroughly and the consensus is, well you can continue your search
for answers to your question and decide.
