We just got an enclosed cargo trailer and the dealer warned that at least a couple of the new trailers he sells each week end up getting stolen. He
advised that hitch locks are useless.
Any tips or gizmos that you've found effective to prevent trailer theft?
Any preferences for the one-piece wheelblock type vs a cable and lock?

Go to www.trailerlock.com and check them out. You'd probably want both a hitch cover lock and a wheel lock.

The "Trailer Keeper" on trailerlock.com was the one I saw online but it was hard to tell from the web photo if it was something that could be smashed
and broken.
Have you used one?

No I haven't. I've only used a pad lock. I haven't had a trailer in several years. Another option would be to use a heavy duty wire rope with a heavy
duty pad lock thru the wheels. Use the type of lock that you can't use a bolt cutter on. Anything that would make a thief give up trying because of
the effort and time.

I use 3/8 inch hardened steel chain through both wheels and around a tree or something. but even this can be opened.

I use a hitch covering lock, a lock thru the pin and a cable thru the wheels to the frame lock.
oh yeah...try this!

Universal Boot Wheel Immobilizers. Not likely to get this thing off the tire. A bit price'cee.....but not bad if you have a trailer full of goodies
you wanna kept.

You can slowem but you can't stop them.

you have got that right. where you keep the trailer is the most important thing.

Just add it to your insurance policy and don't worry about it....
It isn't worth the effort to protect....
bolt cutters are about 40 bucks at Harbor Frieght and will cut anything

Sheez, until now I've been focusing on just keeping this damn
new trailer ($$$)-
hadn't even thought about the value of the contents...
