Hi David There Oct 17 run I cant make as we go to El Coyotes .I have two friends with homes there . So Im thinking of going with others on Next run. Wont bring moto or SXS just one of my offroad 4x4s . Would you think of Joining us? I think I have not been there overe 10 years. I have never like Off road there but willing give it another shot .

David K - 10-16-2025 at 03:04 PM

Hi Larry,
No trips for me until later next year. I have some big back surgery coming up, then a few months recovery after. I do miss Baja and am fortunate to have had such a great trip last May www.vivabaja.com/baja-525 which included San Vicente!
Is your website no longer online?

bajatrailrider - 10-16-2025 at 04:23 PM

David I dont do tours too much work keep motos running. I still lead other off-road tours with other companies motos. Wish you well on surgery yes, we had good time with you. Do you still have 4x4 Toyota

Oh, yes indeed!
It doesn't get out four-wheeling much, anymore (for now), but I am keeping it maintained for that time... It is still the same 2010 model you rode in, back in 2017.
By-the-way, I co-administer a new Facebook group called Toyotas in Baja: https://www.facebook.com/groups/toyotasinbaja nearly 800 members already.

Good to hear you are still doing what you love!

Looks like they had Fun off road trip David . Good you're keeping your Toyota running well. I still have all my off-road toys Toyota off road truck good shape. I still have the Nissan Diesel I sold it with big deposit. Give the Guy two month to pay it off he did not call me back for 4 months. So, I changed my mind not for sale anymore. Only has 60k on it did more mods also use it off road.

David K - 10-25-2025 at 01:02 PM

Did you keep the deposit??? 😉

bajatrailrider - 10-25-2025 at 07:37 PM

Yes I told him I keep the truck two months because I can't drive it. no refund on deposit he called 4 months later. Only to ask if still for sale I said no . He did not ask for refund anyway

Fun times David if I remember three trucks broke down. Then Wils 5,000-pound broco broke the little Nissan. Pulled him real good Mike at 82 Ed Hall and Wil . Still off roading and riding dirt bikes. On that trip my KYB shocks in front blew out seals. So it was bottoming out when I got home. The diesel has large oil pan then small one bolted to it . Had 3in dent it it so I removed it . Ponded out dent fixed I decided to make it serous off-road truck. Custom made skid plates rad engine trans and T case. It had 31in tires went to 33in to do this big-time mods in front. To make tires clear I had to modify the fire wall plus lift body 3in more. total lift w tires 7in it handles on /off road amazing. Thank you for pictures David and good times hoping after your surgery . we can do another run

David K - 10-27-2025 at 11:52 AM

Thank you. The Fords didn't do well. John Marnell (in a Tacoma) stayed with one that elected to get back to his Hardy River home before we actually began the Pole Line section on Day 2. The coil on the Bronco failed near the end of Day 2. TW even went back to the wrecked Suzuki Samurai to get its coil to try it. The Toyotas, Jeeps, Mercedes G Wagons, and your Nissan all were great on the Pole Line Road of 1942.

On a different note, this week's desert run will be on Wednesday this week and head north to the turquoise mine and clam shell canyon per an email from Wornout.

Ken Cooke - 10-27-2025 at 02:04 PM

Those look like fun trails, David. I really miss not being out there. Larrys Nissan looks like its all business now. 7" of lift and 33s is whats needed for Baja. I'm glad that he didnt sell it.

David K - 10-27-2025 at 07:18 PM

Hi Ken! Hope you are doing as good as possible. Those Relive videos are great fun to see Wornout's weekly runs.

bajatrailrider - 10-28-2025 at 04:46 AM

Ken Cooke our fearless leader I wish you well. I was going to sell the Nissan Diesel for lack of use. As dirt bikes number one than SXS and Toyota pre runner. Toyota is fast but no 4X4 so now guys w raptors and other 4x4s. Want me to show them around ::( too old to dirt bike. Mike from pole line road now 82 he is still on dirt bike. Does all the hard stuff he is amazing Ed Hall and Wil still riding.

Is Warren posting info about these runs somewhere? I'd like to join, but haven't been able to find anything except the relive stuff. I guess I could always stop by his store and ask!, but was hoping there was a schedule linked somewhere.

Yes, on the San Felipe Sidewinders Facebook page and I also am on his auto emails that announce the next run, a few days before.
He goes by Wornout here on Nomad and other places.

If a "San Felipe Sidewinders" Facebook group exists, I certainly can't find it. Is that the actual name of the group? Got a link? Thanks!
