mainland Mexico. When they returned to the US they had to stop on the Mexico side of the border to get the holograms removed from their RV and tow
vehicle. What is this hologram and why don't we need one for Baja?

because when traveling in Baja you do not need a car permit,I believe when you go to real Mexico they affix a hologram to the left bottom corner of
your windshield that must be removed when exiting the country...

they need to post a bond also. but not for Baja. the rules are different For Baja.

Years ago when entering Sonora we would afix your sticker and just blow by the check station on our way home. NO MORE!!!! MEXICO NOW HAS COMPUTERS.
And uncle is watching. If you attempt to return to Mexico with that same vehicle and you exicted the country without surrendering your window
sticker. Well lets just say It's gona cost you.

In Nov. last year, I crossed into "Mainland" Mexico and was given a hologram sticker to attach behind the rear view mirror in the center of the
windshield. There was no bond required, but I had to pay for the permit with credit card, Visa or MC only. It must be removed by Mex Customs
officers before the exiration of your permit. FMT general 180 days, FM2 or FM3, your renewal date.
Oh and by the way, you must be the owner of the vehicle and the credit card myst be in your name.
Baja Calif., Baja Calif Sur and western Sonora are considered the Frontera and no vehicle permits are required.
