My favorite (don't tell anybody now, it wouldn't take much to overcrowd it) is the point on the Pacific side at
24.751060, -112.259884

You have to take the 2-car ferry from San Carlos (it's not advertised, ask around for "Pepe", and they may be hesitant to refer you if you look shady) on a descending tide, land at the north end of the sand spit when the tide is near ebb, then find the two-track heading up over the ridge and over to the pacific side. Camping is up on top, and there's a sheltered cove on the south side you can dive or kayak out of, or AWESOME breaks on the Pacific side.

It's a challenge to get there, but once settled in, you'll not want to leave, so take lots of supplies.:light:

Yet another content creator wanting to pick knowledgeable people's brains for free so they can turn around and make money off the information that it took you years of boots-on-the-ground exploring and experience to find out.

And of course they couldn't care less if the next time you go to your secret camping spot, it's filled with van lifers.

You are right. It would have been different if the OP (Agencydialf) had introduced himself/ herself, shared what they liked about Baja, etc. before asking questions of us. I am thinking this person is actually A.I !

It is not just camp sites at risk of overuse. There are ranch roads I have found that I will not talk about on a public forum. I don't want to see another great trail go behind a locked gate!

In my experience these content creators, if they introduce themselves, actually outright lie about who they are. You see them quite often on Airbnb hosting forums. They claim to be a host, ask a bunch of questions as if they are just wanting info on how other hosts do things, yet their profiles show that they just set up an Airbnb account that day and they, in fact, have zero Airbnb listings. Their posts are easy to spot as bs once you've seen a bunch of them, and sound like the topic post here.

Find a dirt road and follow it to the ocean, there will be an amazing spot close by. All of the good spots take some work and driving to reach, in my opinion. Agencydialf, why don't you start us off.

One oft-overlooked secret camping spot is under one of the many bridges along the highways. Bridges provide shade and shelter, making for the perfect secret hideaway to spend a day or a week!

Old quarries left over from road construction often have a nice flat spot, out of site of the highway. being surrounded by vegetation free space can be a plus during "bug season".

And don`t overlook the city dumps. They are truly secret camp spots. Just you, the flies and some stray dogs will be there to enjoy the sights and odors! :thumbup: :thumbup:

Don't overlook those very private stretches of beachfront campsites on the Sea of Cortez side, that you can only find at low tide!

Only "find" at low tide. So what happens when the tide comes in? And you want to assert your rights to the tide line with private landowners in the vicinity? Not my idea of ideal camping spot. And where is OP? Maybe his content should reflect the truth: knowledgeable Baja campers refuse to give up the location of their secret camping spots. And more: Cartel violence is putting a damper on remote secluded camping spots, once recognized as safe and provided that unique Baja experience. So actually, yeah, go ahead and tell OP that camping at low tide in Baja in your Sprinter is a great idea. And absolutely take your truck and trailer to San Jose Comondu - palm trees await at this hidden gem.

I should have included an "eye roll" emoji with my post. I have witnessed the damage to several vehicles caught on an incoming tide.

The upper Sea of Cortez has some pretty significant tides, but my other playground, Cook Inlet, in Alaska is much more extreme. On one trip, I had to deal with a 38 foot change (minus 5'/plus 33'), Fortunately I was in a Zodiac, not a 4x4!

I got it that you were being facetious about camping at low tide, AK, but it's true that emojis help with online communication, as there's no facial expressions, tone of voice, or body language to make it clear that someone is joking.
I used to think emojis were silly kid stuff, but realized that they do serve a practical purpose.
