Can the Viscaino Biosphere example be expanded throughout the peninsula?
The entirety of Baja deserves protection through a Biosphere designation. In my dreams.
What Baja lover wouldn't want to support such a protection for the whole peninsula?
A nature reserve has been in my minds appreciation of Baja and Baja Sur for over fifty years. The whole of Baja deserves nothing less.
Some locations I treasured in the past have been lost through concerns of safety and degradation.
As generally an optimist, every time I hear of some industrial proposals in Baja, I hope that whoever the profiteers are, they will also realize the
whole of Baja is worth defending.
In my dreams, for what it is worth. Baja's influence on my life and many of us Nomads are the similar.
The Salt of the Earth factor has been re-enforced numerous times by the locals who stop to offer assistance while many gringoes drive on by.
I will always try to offer a ride to those in need and help them contact the helpful folks like Antonio in El Rosario.
Over the decades, the assistance I have received from locals without expectations of being paid, has been a gift that I have tried to give back, even
if pesos were denied. I try to come up with some gear I have on hand to pass on that could be useful.
The giving I have received from locals without any expectations of compensation, is the gift that keeps on giving. Salt of the Earth is so true.
To all of us of Baja lovers, a most happy and rewarding holiday season, while keeping the locals in mind.
Any small contribution we can make to the locals means more than most, some, of us can imagine.
There has not been a trip in over fifty years that I have not brought something along to pass on to a local for their generosity. A little can go so
far with minimal personal cost.
Such considerations has always been my own in regards to Baja, and hoping other Baja lovers can appreciate this sentiment still exists in this age of
divisive politics that should not be expressed on this Baja forum. In my dreams.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all Nomads. It takes a special love to participate here and that appreciation has never been in doubt in spite
of a few politically based alternate views.
Is this expression too much for a few? Time will tell in no time. Haha

Almost nobody wants giant open pit mines. However, until we can mine the asteroids, moons, or Mars, there isn't another way to create copper and other

True. And the fact that EV's use 4X the amount of copper to build doesn't make it any better.

Not sure today but a couple years back it was in a state of "no maintenance" but it seemed usable- did not have the standard issue trenches dug across

I was there last month for a few days. Beto is good, but a little peeed about the cows next door breaking into his property all of the time. He said
he didn't think anyone was cooking there, just a few cowboys that can't keep track of their cows.

Thanks for the response. First time there, my daughter named his cove "Sting Ray Bay" , still dont think I have ever seen such a concentration of them
in 1 place. Beautiful area

One October I was flying South when Beto’s American wife had hitched a ride North with the Flying Doctors……. We listened in on the radio talk
between the 2 airplane group discussed the leaking fuel cap on the twin engine plane…. Plane crashed in Ensenada killing all aboard; we landed at

Yep, thick with sting rays in the evening but clear in the morning. some good fishing off of the dock, showers were nice and hot, cold beers I think
were $3 each. We brought plenty but I bought a couple just because.
If you have a kayak or small boat take it, perfect spot for it.
