Any recommendations for a two night stay (2 couples) would be greatly appreciated. Early - mid February. Thanks

Weve stayed at the Yurts on the way into town and really enjoyed it. You can google it for the exact name and contact info.

La huerta, in town
Desert inn, short walk to town
Ignacio springs yurts, longish walk from town
La posada, in town, a bit of a budget place

There are a number of hotels on the hwy, but these are far a bit far from town,…

What the goat said.
La Huerta is just past the mission/ plaza, on the right.
Have also stayed at Ignacio Springs and Ricardo's. La Huerta beats them both in cost and cleanliness but the yurts are unique at Ignacio Springs. We just didn't care for the c-ckroaches and rats in our yurt! Stayed at La Posada in 1985 and it was nice, back then.

Forgive my going off topic for a moment, but the Dakar is on!!

Just not on cable TV. I checked.

YouTube is it this time.

I love those big trucks somehow going through deep soft sand with the weight they carry.

Momentum is the word of the day. Ain't that the truth?

Nothing new, eh? Even more women drivers is new. You go girls!

Dakar is on tv. One hour each day at 4 pm. Search your TV channels. However, as you said, YouTube is also showing Dakar.

EDIT: Racer Network, Ch. 402 on Spectrum (here in North County San Diego)
