new book for me

I just finished reading, "The Elusive Dream" about Punta Chivato area.
Interesting read. I have camped on the beach there, walked thru the hotel when it was abandoned, and had drinks at the bar when it was Posada Flores. Actually read Lou Fererico's book years ago, so it was nice to get caught up on the area. This book filled a lot of curious holes in the history that I wondered about. My favorite part of the book, was that it tied a lot of names, with stories that I have read on this form from Pompano, Russ and others.

Also a good reminder how properties and things are handled in Mexico.

Take care All.

I would have liked to have been there in its heyday.

Pompano sure had some great stories here. Miss those for sure

I camped there a few times in 1993 and 1994 knowing nothing about the place other than I liked the "Vato" in the name. My best friend Ed and I were on our way to South America.....so we thought. I remember meditating on the beach early in the morning before sunrise and truly feeling one with my surroundings and myself. I have a vague memory of going over to the restaurant one evening after drinking some rum.

Then I was off to Alaska to make $$ for more Mexico trips. I met a girl up there and told her about Mexico so she returned with me on a trip to Mainland Mexico next year. On our drive down we stopped at Punta Chivato for a day or two. I just remember both of us, camping, nude - and seeing no one around, started "frolicking" in the ocean. One of those memories you never forget.

Ahhhhhhhhh the good old days.

Ateo, I wonder if we all have our own 'From Here to Eternity' moments?

If you have to ask, you definitely missed out. haha

Glad I have mine that remains like it was yesterday and will for all the days I am given.

What was the topic?

Gracias Ateo, you just reminded me of some of my own escapades. Good times had by all, indeed.
