Just returned from an overnight stay in Rosarito.
We crossed the border Monday morning about 9:00am at Otay Mesa going south.
There was a long line on the right(Something to Declare).
We went to the left no waiting, just got waved thru. Easy Peasy.
We headed east to Blvd 2000 then south to the old fox studios.
This road is being improved greatly. Lots of construction. Concrete road surface. Lots of work on the median.
After reaching the coast we went north on the free road into Rosarito. I don’t like going thru TJ so we went around it.
My wife needed an old crown replaced. Got it done over 2 days for about 1/3 the cost in the states. Our dentist does good work at a reasonable cost.
Booked a room on-line at Del Mar Inn right on the Blvd. Quiet, clean and good price. It was less than half the walk-in price of $115 US. Includes a
FULL breakfast. I will stay there again.
Tuesday after finishing at the dentist about 3:30pm we went back up Blvd 2000 then onto the free road to Tecate. Got into the border crossing line
@5:15pm and got thru a little over 2 hours later.
There were plenty of services, gas, taquerias etc along the way.
Crossing south at Otay was easier than expected. I don’t care too much for isolated lonely roads when traveling with the wife.
Has anyone got an FMM at Otay south? Can you get it without going into the “Something to Declare Line”?
