Heading to San Felipe need hotel

ligui - 7-30-2026 at 06:43 PM

Hi guys I'm heading south and am spending the night in San Felipe. Friend wants to try something new.

Looking for something on the beach just for the night before moving on. 2 guys and a dog

Getting there around 6 in the evening couple hours of walking around then crash and head out just before sunrise.

Thanks:thumbup:

I really liked Hotel El Cortez but for some reason the last time I was there they wouldn't allow dogs. Its worth checking though. You can walk on the beach to Matilde Restaurant (great food and drinks in my opinion, but gringo prices).

When I got turned around last time I just went to the San Felipe Beach Hotel right next door. Not as nice but was good enough.

Further south outside of town I also really liked Sandollar Hotel. It has a cool retro vibe.

Chenowth's is a great place. Super relaxing and very nice.

You drive east towards Rancho Percebu (km. 20.8) then north about 1 mile on a road that parallels the coast.

Random question for DK, or anyone else. Does anyone know what type of rocks the houses are built from a Rancho Percebu?

Booked at Chenoweths for Thursday. Looking forward to checking it out.

Anyone know what gas prices are ?

I'm heading down to ligui to hookup our property to the municipal water system. Should be interesting. We need to run the pipes about 2 hundred yards from the main line to a 5000 Ltd holding tank then pump water 2 hundred more meters up the driveway to another holding tank. Raise in elevation 70 feet for the 2 hundred meters.
Going to employ the locals in the village for this and spread around some much needed money.

Just over two months ago, posted in my trip report: San Felipe gas was 23.99/ liter

I did the math.....more or less

AKgringo - 8-3-2026 at 08:32 AM

With rounding errors. that is approximately $5.25 a gallon. That is about what it costs here in Nevada County CA.

I like San Dollar and it's about 50m from the water. They were OK with dogs. Hotel is South of San Felipe.
