What are your can't miss experiences in and around Mexico City? Places to see , stay ,dine that you would recommend. We are planning a trip to the
area.
Looking for any tips or suggestions.

Museo Frida Kahlo in Coyocan. The Viveros in Coyocan is huge and very interesting if you're into plants. We stayed in Coyocan as it is more laid
back than Centro. We Ubered to everything, driving would be literally insane. Found Uber very reliable. We stayed at Casa Tuna, rooms with small
kitchens and very nice seating areas outside. 3 star.
In the huge park of Bosque de Chapultepec are three great Museos:
Anthropology. Modern Art and Chapultepec Castle. The walk up to the castle in long, at 72 years wiped us out, but the view of the city is impressive.
The National Auditorium for concerts and plays is also there. Could spend 2 days.
Not far from that is the Alameda Central with Museos of Diego Rivera on one side and very impressive Palisias Bella Artes on the other end. Huge
cathedrals and ancient diggings all in this area.
Most of the above are major tourist attractions. You will walk you *ss off so bring good walking shoes.

I would definitely hit the Anthropological Museum and set aside the whole day to get the full experience. We had a 3/4 day and felt we rushed too
much. Once you get to Oaxaca, Monte Alban would be a great one to tour as well for us old people that tire easily. Oaxaca State has a lot of
interesting history that ties well into what you will get from the Mexico Museum. And in Oaxaca city in the central square there is a great restaurant
that opens at 6:30 AM with fantastic variety of food for breakfasts. Sorry, but I cannot remember the name, bit it's the only one open that early.

You can stay right on the Zocalo for relatively cheap.....it's nice to be that close to the presidential palace, the cathedral, Bellas Artes, local
shopping, Plaza Garibaldi, as well as possible events IN the Zocalo......this will give you some things to do within walking distance including
archaeological digs.
Then hit up Chapultepec and the museum area. Anthropology museum is fun. The park is rad. Go to the castle and see rad views down Paseo de La
Reforma and the Zona Rosa is nearby.
Coyoacan is good.

Zocalo.

Great info from all of you. Keep it coming if something else comes to mind. It is very much appreciated! We have our flights booked out of TJ and the
wife is working on accommodations now (she has a bad back so the bed is a deal breaker).
We love museums, history, botany, architecture, food and agave so we will be busy. We also enjoy walking and I am on the mend from plantar fasciitis
so fingers crossed there. We are in DF for 5 nights using Uber, then rent a car and head to Puebla for 3 nights, then on to Oaxaca for 4. We will make
note of all the suggestions and plan accordingly.

We just got back from the Peruvian Amazon. Spent three days in Lima, a city built for 4 million that has a population of 10 million, and the traffic
and the traffic jams were world class. We used UBER and one night we went to dinner 9 miles from hotel and it took 45 minutes. At one point we were
stuck in the middle of a huge intersection total gridlock and the Uber app sent me a message "It seems you have not moved in awhile, is everything
OK?" All the locals we spoke with were fed up and helpless at the same time. One driver told us he lived on the outskirts of Lima and it could take
him two hours one way to get to 'work'. He said it was "soul crushing". We saw a few fender benders but they were all low speed because no way to ever
get out of 2nd gear.
