Cabo Fishing Report – Four Sailfish Near the 95 Buoy
October 5, 2026 – 4 Sailfish Released – Cabo Fishing Report
Billfish provided the action for a 15-person group fishing with Blue Sky Cabo Fishing Charter and Tours on October 5. Instead of putting the entire
party aboard one vessel, the group headed offshore on two yachts for a six-hour charter and finished the day with four sailfish near the 95 Buoy.
The boats were the 50-foot Viking Blue Ocean and the 43-foot Riviera Blue Sky. Fishing ran from 7:00 AM until 1:00 PM.
All four sailfish were released.
Cabo Sportfishing Catch Details From the 95 Buoy
Date: October 5, 2026 | Charter: 6 Hours
Fishing: 7:00 AM–1:00 PM | Guests: 15
Yachts: 2 | Fishing Area: Near 95 Buoy
Sailfish Caught: 4 | Sailfish Released: 4
Billfish Release Rate: 100% | Dredges: Not Used
One notable part of this charter was the decision to decline the optional dredge program on both yachts.
Dredges can create the appearance of a concentrated school of bait behind a trolling boat and are regularly used as an offshore billfish attraction
technique. They aren't the only way to find or raise sailfish, however.
The crews worked without them and still generated four sailfish for the group.
Cabo Fishing Charter Designed Around a Large Party
A 15-person fishing group presents different challenges from a standard two- or four-angler charter.
Using two yachts gave guests more deck room while providing two crews with independent fishing platforms.
It also meant that when offshore activity developed, anglers weren't all trying to work from the same c-ckpit.
The available charter record lists four sailfish as the combined catch. It does not specify how those fish were divided between the Viking and
Riviera, so no individual boat totals are being assigned.
Breakfast, bait and fishing licenses were included in the charter. The group also had open bar service and an Arch visit, with photography and bonus
video available when possible.
Cabo Sportfishing Charter Final Numbers
For Baja anglers interested in recent Cabo activity, the key detail was the location: the group found its sailfish action near the 95 Buoy during a
six-hour morning trip.
Four hookups resulted in four successful releases.
No exaggerated fish count and no assumptions about which yacht caught what—the documented result was simply a strong morning of Cabo billfishing for
a large group enjoying the Pacific offshore grounds together.
