As of yesterday late afternoon, the Pemex Station in Bahia de los Angeles is open....!:bounce:

YEE-HAW!

Although I feel a little bad for the folks who were selling gas privately. A changing world brings good and bad.

When we were there in March everyone was talking up electricity. There has been word here on nomad also. They were saying the power is coming from Guerrero Negro, was presently (in March) already up to Laguna Manuela and was expected to be in Bahia de Los Angeles by August. Several folks said power would also be distributed to the homes along the bay outside of town. Normally I would write this all off as rumor but everyone we talked to said exactly the same thing. Do you have any knowledge about this? Sorry we missed you when we stopped by, but we'll soon have more time to visit. We'll be down around May 12th for a time.

Didn't we have a pool going on what week the station would open?

thanks, Mia

BajaVida - 5-8-2005 at 02:23 PM

it was looking good last month and we joked about waiting in line to be the first customers

the gas folks across the street said they would close down--it was good for them while it lasted

Gasoline...& LUZ?!

Hola Mike,

Yes, I have heard that talk as well, about bringing power in from Guerrero Negro. I suppose it could happen, but it's hard to imagine so much investment going in to bring it here and I wonder how many people would be able to pay their bill every month?! Hmmm....

We never thought the road would be fixed within our lifetimes, so who the heck knows! Bring on that electricity!

That is good news for us, too bad for the others.....but, I heard a rumor that it was the people with the gas pump across the street that were the ones that owned the new station, not true I guess....anyway, let's wait and see if they have regular deliveries and don't run out......I once had to wait an extra 1 1/2 weeks before I could leave because of this problem. ;) :D

Well everybody, guess we can help them out with laundry business.....The lady there does laundry for me and it comes back all fluffy and smelling good. She has actual machines.....not doing it by hand.

I just heard it has allready run out of gas!!!....they kept putting 7 gallons of gas in these 5 gallon containers and ran short......

Actually, I filled up yesterday, and the pumps seem to run pretty darn accurate.

Fuel Prices are:

$6.03 pesos per liter for Magna Sin
$4.99 pesos per liter for Diesel

Diesel will be available sometime next week according to Sergio.

I suggested years ago that we do just that and put signs in our back windows advising which stations to stay away from.

I can't imagine that the Bahia station would even try to pull that garbage, too isolated, too many repeat coustomers to not get called on it really fast.

PacO - 5-9-2005 at 10:45 AM

Then again, when you're the only station in town it's easy to dictate the rate.

So, is the one in town.....

Hook - 5-9-2005 at 12:23 PM

....just as bad as the one out by the Serenidad, Pompano? Or are you referring to the SR Pemex?
