I am new to los barilles and am thinking about putting a tin boat W/ outboard motor at my house. My place is on the outskirts on Los Barilles, and
there is someone there once every few months. We have a gardner who sort of looks after the place, and the previous residents kept a car or two
outside for several years without incidence. My question is how safe is it to keep an outboard motor outside (locked to the hull, covered, et al)? Are
there people in this forum with similar circumstances? Any advice? Thanks in advance.
GREAT forum.

Personally I would not do it. No matter where I lived. There are a lot of people who could use that motor and if it looks unused and
abandoned....well.
It might be easier to steal the entire rig.
Thanks, yes, we are wonderful. Why not join!

Common sense says don't do it if you have an alternative. No matter where you live.

For one who has a house in Los Barriles, you should now learn to spell it correctly.
Correct spelling is ,,,,Los Barriles,,,,
I presume you have at least an FM-3 Immigration document.
If you only have the basic FM-T tourist permit, it IS a problem leaving anything in Mexico.
One must have a valid FM-3, or higher quality, to leave something here.
All tourists, with anFM-T, have to take everything out of the Republic that they brought in. That means everything. That is the law.
Look it up.
So, when one "leaves" things in Mexico illegally, well, he/she has actually abandonded the item, in a foreign country.
Sounds harsh? Not Really. This is Mexico, and their rules govern all the visitors.
You should know this, being a "homeowner", and such.

It seems that it would be easy to haul one of these shipping containers on a flatbed trailer. There's no law against bringing one of these things in,
is there? If there is, maybe there is a way around it; like maybe making it look like a travel trailer or a put an ATV and some camping equipment in
it.
