Just for your info, the Mexican senate and congress just approved a new law that makes it legal for Mexican citizens to own and carry guns, and we are not talking about small arms, we are talking about anything from .22 to shotguns. Why they they do this? i have no fricking clue, all i know is that expect most Mexicans to be armed in a few years, so think twice if your going to get into trouble with some locals.

Just another example of the stupidity of my elected officials.

All of my Mexican friends have always owned guns--I brought many down to them before the government got heavy. Gringo's--still--no------always shotguns because they had no serial numbers.

Every Shotgun I ever bought since 1964 has had a serial number on it. Right now I have (9) of them and they all have serial numbers. Where are you getting these w/o numbers.

Jesse, isn't wrong for only the criminals (besides government) to have guns? Just think if good, law abiding people had protection, how little those bad guys would bother them. A policeman can't be with you 24 hours a day, but a gun can.

Even though it has been stated many times, it's worth pointing out that the Police have no responsibility to protect the citizens from crime. The U.S. Supreme Court has previously made that point when ruling on a liability case. The best you can hope for is that they'll show up after the fact to clean things up and HOPEFULLY track down the bad guy who will then (if convicted) be given a light sentence which will be shortened for good behaviour , over-crowding or simply a Lefty Judge.

Every state that has passed reasonable CCW laws has seen their rate of violent crime reduced, not increased as the Liberals had predicted. The Left-wing response to that has been to insist that: MORE STUDIES need to be done.

Everything going great, and will get more busy and have less chance of posting here. Plenty of people have guns here in Mexico, but with this new law, everybody and their dogs can have one now, legal.

If it hasnt worked for the U.S., why will it ever have a chance of working in lawless Mexico? this new law wont protect anybody from the bullets of 7.62mm Ak-47 coming from a drug hitman, wich is the real problem here in Mexico.

AH HA, so that is why those two El Centro US Customs Agents had a case of 40mm bullets on the back seat of their private SUV when they were randomly stopped entering Baja, in Mexicali last week!

Go to the "Baja News" column here, and re-read the total article as published in the San Diego Tribune.

1286 cartridges of 40 CALIBER(that's .40 of an inch in dia.) along with 10 rounds of .223 rifle ammo(.250 is 1/4 inch dia) was in their car.
The .40 caliber is for their issued duty sidearm, a Smith and Wesson semi-automatic pistol.
The .223 is for their issued AR-15 rifle.

You will also see that the 2 agents are back in the USA, and on paid duty, doing administrative work, till the matter is settled and cleared up.

A 40mm is a cannon shell, 1.574803 inches in Diameter vs a .40 cal. which is less than 1/2 inch in dia.
A huge difference!

This is great. I have always though we should all have paintball guns when driving. Someone does something stupid, you splat them. When it is time to renew registration a vehicle inspection is done, and it you have too many splatters, no renewal.

Think about it, it would be 'majority rules', so if you want to keep driving stupid, you would have to buy another car every year. The old cars could be sold and the money put in the highway fund. Instead of cops looking for burned out tail lights to make a traffic stop, they could just pull over the cars with multiple splats, viola life is good again.
