Fellow Nomads,
Any info on surf fishing opportunities at above locations. Moving to Todos in November.....need the green/palms and the warmth.....old bones!
Will also be fishing out of Cabo in my Dusky, any info???
Seasons, species etc., etc.
On the move again chasing my tail!!!!

I am assuming that you need a ramp. San Lucas is the only place for that right now.
Then come up the east cape and look for the other boats. Yesterday they were all off of Red Rock...lots of 'em. Fishing in close will probably get
you some roosters, pargo, dorado and, if you get as far as the San Jose Estuary, possibly some snook(my favorite fish for sure).
I also know nothing about shore fishing in Todos Santos but once you get here and start asking around, I am sure you will get the scoop.

Did a lot of surf fishing in TS in the 70s. Early AM sight casting blue and white Salas 3X into surf all along the beach north of Punta Lobos was my
favorite. Lots of toros, occasional yellowtail.
Same area with bait or small jig, corvina, pargo, mojarra.
Up at Carrizal, chrome spoon for giant snook. Very hard fishing but worth it if you get hit.
Like the earlier post says, there is no ramp on that coast north of Cabo. Pangas launch through the surf at both TS and Pescadero. Dorado, yellowfin
tuna, marlin fairly close inshore.

I occasionally went fishing just south of Cerritos beach, not being into the fancy stuff I caught a few fish with chicken parts.

Thanks for the info...SNOOK! caught lots of them in Florida, wadda fish!
Surf cast all my life will walk my way through.......dynamite boat for launching and running......easy on fuel...140 4 stroker....
Maybe I'll stick with the "chicken parts"....

The problem with fishing out of Todos Santos is the damn shore waves. There is NO protected cove or natural harbor. And no-one anchors off shore.
Stand on the beach and watch the few commercial pangas surf the waves into the shore while applying full power, and skid themselves up onto the beach
high and dry.
Cabo San Lucas IS NOT friendly to any small gringo boat! This has been their attitude for 30 years. The Marina really has no space available during
the season and the price for a small slip is astronomical. I used to take my Super Panga there, pay the daily slip fee. Also the private launch ramp
is hard to get into and the charge is 10 dollars in and 10 dollars out. Also you will be charged a daily parking fee for your pick-up and boat
trailer. There is NO free parking anymore. The street parking is way, way away, and break-ins are common daily.
Many have sold their small boats because of this.
Cabo San Lucas has changed permanently, and will never go back to the old way it was.
San Jose del Cabo is presently building a new marina, surrounded by Condos, and this maze surrounded by million dollar homes.
There will be nothing for the small boater.
The only area catering to small boating is in the Bahia de Palmas, in front of the Buena Vista area and the Los Barriles area.
There are simply 100's of small boats fishing out of here exactly for this reason.
And if you're wondering where the "fuel dock" is, well it is between the Burger King and the Wendy's fast food restaurants here.
Capt. George, there are also several 23' Dusky,s here, and are for sale.

Hey George..
Why not look around Lopez Mateos? Great location on the Pacific side. Nice small town, with good access to the hwy. Ramp for you boat..Surf fishing.
North end of Mag Bay, and about 2hr drive over to Loreto when the Dorado are running.

K....been there, didn't care for the town about 2 years ago...not a bad drive from Todos.......
Really like the area around Todos, lots of green, palms etc. easy living.
Stay in touch, maybe you'll make a visit........
Will keep my property in Abreojos, just need a little more of the conveniences at this stage of the game.....very little water here so very little
green.............
