That's some rig! Is it the Santa Rosalia T.V. Repairman's car, or a new decoration at Coco's Corner?:lol::lol:

thank you thank you. i lurked a bit before i chose a handle. it came to me, and basically sums it up, ya know? ;)

but, i know you already know it's from coco's and, i was dissapointed to find he'd cleared out the rancho this year. last year in april it was a goldmine of photo opps.

Why did you change the photos you posted of Coco's Corner? They were interesting...? The new ones are very nice, however!

the man,the myth,the legend.....oh and our special buddy....Coco

That's a neat one showing Coco and part of his 'Yacht Club Pennant' collection hanging from the beams...!

Mexray - 6-18-2005 at 03:19 PM

There used to be a neat, funky, saloon up here in the Calif Delta area, called Moore's River Boat. The bar/restaurant was on an old wooden cargo boat that was barely floating. Hanging above the large bar, was a vast collection of 'Yacht Club Pennants' donated by many young ladies over years. The 'collection' seemed to grow during the several big events on the Delta each year - 4th of July, Halloween, New Years, etc...I witnessed several 'donations' during visits, and they were always done in good taste - but with much cheering and imbibing at the bar! I suspect the 'donee' never had to pay for her drinks!...

Alas, poor old Moore's Riverboat had a bad kitchen fire one day, and the county muckity-mucks wouldn't let them rebuild without lots of reconstruction to bring the place up to current codes...:barf: They had the poor old boat towed away, and replaced it with a floating restaurant of more recent vintage. The new bar was installed, sans the 'Yacht Club Pennants', as new operators didn't think they fit their new place's 'image'...

'National Treasures' like this are harder to come by in our increasing 'PC' type world. There are times I'd like to hang some of those 'PC' do-gooders from the rafters by their 'pennants' while they are still wearing them!...

 indeed - Coco is the MAN - and here's one (altho, not as cold or as full as I would intend) to those kind enough to take the uninitiated on the trip(s) of their lives.... its a special, special gift you have to share.

bajapablo - 6-18-2005 at 09:29 PM

nice pictures gringette, the sunset is stunning.

gringette - 6-18-2005 at 11:43 PM

;) i agree.

i have a few other sunset shots - who doesn't - but this one takes the cake so far. amazing colors. gotta give fuji film their props - bright, amazing color - and god knows i blew as many shots as i was lucky enough to get.

this one i snapped hanging out of the flap of my tent at 5? 6? whatever A.M. in gonzaga, and immediately returned to my sleeping bag - what a happy, lucky shot, eh? :)

gringette - 6-19-2005 at 12:18 AM

ps. - it makes a killer screensaver - send me an email addy and i'll send you a higer rez version. altho, i'm not responsible for the longing it might inspire- ;)

those long, long days with no escapin'

gringette - 6-19-2005 at 12:26 AM

or rather; sunrise shot - ;) on reconsideration.

Sharksbaja - 6-19-2005 at 12:42 AM

Mucho gusto amiga! I figured you used film. Muy bueno!. Bienvenidos,Sharks

Natalie Ann - 6-19-2005 at 10:32 AM

Very nice images, Gringette. Welcome.

And speaking of panties, in Berkeley one of our better Italian restaurants has a clothes line which hangs from the ceiling and runs the length of the restaurant, and from it hangs all manner of women's lingerie - panties, bras, corsettes, garter belts, stockings, sexy nighties. Couple of times a year they change the laundry just so we don't get bored. :o::rolleyes::spingrin:

oh yes, i love to shoot film - but i've gotten the best results from color slides - I use Fujichrome Sensia 200 - while i do my own scanning (cheapish epson scanner with slide and film adapters) its amazingly cheap to process slide film. give a whirl, if you have an old school 35 mm camera.

altho, i've seen amazing stuff from digital too. i hope next time to have both. too much good stuff to capture!

color depth

Sharksbaja - 6-21-2005 at 12:06 AM

I grew up with a Nikon 55mm. I loved that camera. I wonder if it still works? I like the versatility of digital but film has more color depth, depending on how you use it. I must find my ancient (35 yrs) Baja Kodacolor/Ektachrome shots.

huh. so, here's a question - whats the diff between 35 and 55 - its the sort of lens, right? wrong? i took intro photo classes back when and have a book i should probably revisit instead of asking you... but... ha ha, the book is so far away (about 8 steps) and the keyboard is so close ;)

ps - i bet it still works. ;)

my pentax k1000 still works - i got it when i was 15 many moons ago and it has seen me thru many a camping trip and a few baja trips. the baja trips are responsible for the grating sound i get when i focus ( no doubt a grain of sand in between the lenses, or lense sliders) but, other than operator error, she stilll shoots like a champ. :)

from 4-05 - coco got a new sketchbook. last year this time he was a bit strapped for space. I think if i'm lucky enough to go back again i'll bring him some blank art books and colored pencils. :)

gringette - 6-22-2005 at 11:33 PM
