Reeljob - 6-23-2005 at 08:13 PM

OK all you old timers, (not years old, time in MX). How cold is it in December and January on the Mardi Cortez?

bajalou - 6-23-2005 at 08:16 PM

San Felipe - december maybe low 70's daytime mid 40's at night Subject to both higher and lower for a few days at a time - November is warmer -

Depends, which part?

David K - 6-23-2005 at 08:24 PM

Yes... about 600 miles from north to south and the south end is the same latitude as Hawaii.

I would overall say chilly at night (freezing in the north end at night)... bring jacket! See our Feb. (President's Day) get-together photos (the night time ones around the camp fire) http://vivabaja.com/204 at Nuevo Mazatlan, 25 miles south of San Felipe.

Here's Mexray making Jiffy Pop (note gloves):

Debra - 6-23-2005 at 08:36 PM

I've been swimming at mid-night in December south of Mulege.

pokey - 6-23-2005 at 08:39 PM

Nothing like a mid-night swim :tumble:

David K - 6-23-2005 at 08:41 PM

Was it a 'full moon' Debra?:moon::biggrin:

Debra - 6-23-2005 at 09:18 PM

No, it was before I met El Camote! ;) :bounce:

pokey - 6-23-2005 at 09:24 PM

Debra - 6-23-2005 at 09:32 PM

HA! I'm not sure if I should be insulted or not, but that was FUNNY Pokey!

pokey - 6-23-2005 at 09:51 PM

Oh... it definitely wasn't any insult. I'm all about mid-night swims :saint: ;) What could be finer than a moon-lit dip in the water, a few Pacificos, and Vicente Fernandez doing what he does best in the CD player.

Late night chats on the tail gate of the truck, surf lapping at the tires , drinking home made wine, and laughing at the absurdity of it all.... are some of the fondest memories I have.

recipe for cheap home made wine soon to follow:

Debra - 6-23-2005 at 10:01 PM

Well the question came because of the timing of your comment to my post "no, it was before I met El Camote" but, I'll forgive you for a sip (and the recipe) of that home made wine!

Bruce need a report from your area

Hot and getting hotter. :light: Pokey shrugs his shoulders and wonders if there is any other kind of report from BCS?

Now we're talking!! Admittedly I feel a bit coquetish. But honestly I can think of no better way to spend an afternoon than to spend it with a woman from the Pac NW. The wine flows freely around here

The coldest temp I have ever seen on my porch in San Jose del Cabo is 40....that was in Dec last year
I would never come down here in the winter months without something warm for the evenings.

Bruce R Leech - 6-24-2005 at 06:41 AM

Dec and Jan temps.45 at night and about 80 in the daytime is the norm. here at my house in lovely down town Mulege. it will be a little wormer on the beaches. at my ranch back in the valley the Daly highs are about the same but it gets cooler at night about 38 to 40 . I have kept records on the weather in Mulege for about 16 years and the hottest it has ever been here is 106 and the coldest was 18 that was here in town.those are rare once in 16 years.

Reeljob - 6-24-2005 at 08:03 AM

Funny, noone has mentioned the "Wind Chill" during those months???? If it's 70 degrees and a 20 knot wind......

Bruce R Leech - 6-24-2005 at 08:26 AM

There is a wind chill chart on the NOAA site. I think every one knows that it feels cooler when the wind blows. but it is temp. wind speed and the relative. humidity so it must be calculated for each set of circumstances. In our aria the relative humidity is what effects the comfort more than anything else. Right now at 9 am it is 84 deg. and a R.H. of about 89% and the wind is out of nowhere at 0 knots, this makes it feel like about 98 or 99 deg.F. but if you set in front of a fan with a big glass of Ice tea like I'm doing it is not Bad:spingrin:

Life is Good in Mulege

Reeljob - 6-24-2005 at 08:56 AM

Some people have all the luck. Last eve in Durango it was 82 deg, RH of 14% & lite breeze. However, what about Dec & January when its colder n heck here, 60 in Mulege and the wind out of the North at 25 or 30 K?

Bruce R Leech - 6-24-2005 at 09:13 AM

I will be making a trip to Colorado in the next month to do some business and visit family. I am exited because I haven't been out of Mexico in three years.

Me No - 6-24-2005 at 02:59 PM

Durango, since you really are from Durango, you will probably only ever need shorts.

Bruce, It sure was frio last December around the time we met at your place. 38 is the coldest I ever remember it down south.

jrbaja - 6-24-2005 at 03:26 PM
