MEXICO CITY ? A Mexican naval plane crashed in western Mexico, killing the pilot, the navy said in a statement.
The plane went down Tuesday during maneuvers near La Paz, on the Baja California peninsula's southern tip.
Hugo Roberto Mantilla was killed, the navy said in the statement issued Tuesday. Officials were investigating what caused the crash.
