anybody checked this place out...was there for the first time a couple weeks ago and really liked it...we camped down the beach for free and came up to the bar in the afternoon for killer strawberry margaritas and some interesting chat with a few aussies that were staying right there at the hostel

We've stayed there with groups. It's more fun than the hotel in town and has a great location. The owners are nice. We rocommend it.

They have a hard to see sign on #1

Packoderm - 7-10-2005 at 12:15 PM

Is there a sandy beach nearby Coyote Cal's?

some sandy,some rocky...

eetdrt88 - 7-10-2005 at 03:27 PM

but over all a really neat place...especially if you dont want to venture to far south and still want to be far away from everything...

Some good clam and mussel beds can be found in the Erendira area also. Good surf perch fishing too. Nothing like grilling clams and fish on the beach while your soaking in the late afternoon sun.;D

Really good fishing

jrbaja - 7-10-2005 at 04:38 PM

out of the local pangas too.

turtleandtoad - 7-10-2005 at 05:01 PM

Is it accessable to a 37' Class A? If so, what's the cost?

Don't need hook-ups, I'm solar powered. But a dump station would be nice.

Need somewhere new to stop on my way south. Mona Lisa is getting old.

Mr Turtle,
I would unhook the toad and drive in and check it out.
Of course I have seen some mtorhomes in places I wouldn't take them.
Good luck,

Corky

It's been a couple years

jrbaja - 7-10-2005 at 09:50 PM

but seems like it was about $80.00 or a hundred for four of us. Someone else should have mpore info on Castros, the fishing place. I think they have a site.

Surf fishing too? What sort of fish is pulled up in that area?

The last time we went

jrbaja - 7-12-2005 at 11:26 AM

My neighbor and I filled our entire driveway with lingcod, sheepshead, corvina, croaker, red snapper, bass of different types, perch, etc.

The skipper of our panga caught a 50# yellowtail, the record for Erendira. It happened to be the day the u.s. played Mexico in soccer. We let him keep it to share with the town for the match.

Fun place to be sure.

Whimp here is asking you.....

Hey...hot showers at this place?

turtleandtoad - 7-18-2005 at 05:42 AM

Hey Yankee,
What happened to your avatar?

dug - 7-18-2005 at 08:14 PM

We have stayed at Coyote Cal's and Castros. Both have hot showers. Castros have some simple cabins with community bathrooms and showers and some larger houses with 8 or 10 beds, private baths, and kitchens.

you better go now they only allow 2 aftermarket slides
south of Ensenada

turtleandtoad - 7-19-2005 at 07:14 AM

Funny Bruce,

But even if it were true, I won't have any aftermarket slides when I return, my new coach's 3 slides are original equipment. Did I mention that it also has 1 1/2 baths? :o

I just have to decide if I want to attempt that road to Playa Requeson in this newer and bigger coach (or if mama is going to jack up the 50 peso fee because I'm taking up to much room)

I may need a road report before I get there.

See you in Feb.
