I notice there is becoming a wider scope of international Nomads. Personally, I am interested in pictures of other places around the globe. Especially from those who would have an interest in such a wild ???:bounce: place such as Baja.
Would anyone else be interested in seeing just a few photos from around the globe from members? Should I be asking Doug this question? Should I just search if I'm so nosey?:lol:

I think that is an excellent idea JR. Since I live in Mexico, my vacations are taken elsewhere and I would love to share some of my stories and photos with you guys.
I am on another board for one of the places in the Caribbean that we like to visit and they have a section for stories from other locations. Or if you are going somewhere else, you can see if someone here has some local knowledge of that place.
Lets not do a poll though!

I always like to see photos and hear descriptions of places I haven't been.
Although I wouldn't mind seeing them on the general discussion board, a "Travel" forum might be better.

I'm working in Peru but I follow this board because I like to hear about what's happening in Baja.

If you are interested in the back roads (and jungle rivers) of Peru, let me know.

If these international guys have websites, I would be interested in seeing them. If they don't, I would still be interested in seeing the pics.. Of course, Doug will have the final say. I imagine he is waiting to see how many are interested, or not.

Include them pictures here in this forum. To see and read what constitutes an international Nomad would be interesting; I think it would be associated within the theme of the BajaNomad postings. It?ll refresh the reasons why some of us has chosen to play "hide and seek"?.In Baja.

This is the reason I go to the beach when I go on vacation even though I have a beautiful view of the Sea of Cortez from my house.

This idea should be pushed. Create a new topic area for it. Placing stuff in off-topics, too many of us dont really go there much anymore. This would be a simply web change to do...just re-name one of the topics that isnt really active (like camping or that eatery review). Hey BTW where the hell are my pics? :bounce:

The top one is me on a camel at the Great Pyramid, outside Cairo and the second is near Luxor on the Nile... I have lots of Egypt trip photos... what an incredible place!

Hey, I am a Californian and wore California clothes!

It was around 90? in the day, and I was comfortable for all the walking we did.

A great drink that is popular in Egypt is called (Kar-kah-day), which is sweatened hibiscus (roselle) flower tea. The very same as Mexico's Jamaica (Hah-my-cah) drink!

Great Idea--Wonderful that the sword didn't come out for David--Yankee--glad you identified him 'cause I was going to ask who the kid was.

David the thing on the drinks was a very interesting aside--Do you think the Arabs could have discovered Mexico first or do you just think that they introduced it to Spain and then it, the drink, followed Cortez???

I was in Egypt during the 6-Day War many years ago and for a while afterward. Abdullah, the camel driver, was a local who walked into our village camp each morning with all his 15 wives dutifully trailing behind him at a required 'respectful' distance. One day, a few days after our 'war' had ended, Abdullah walked into our camp, but had all his 15 wives fanned out ahead of him..which was not normal for him. "Hey, Abdullah," I called out. "Have you found some enlightment?" To which he replied, "No...land mines." ....chortle...Arrgggghhhhhh

I would guess that in tropical climates, something good like hibiscus tea ('Jamaica') gets around in today's smaller world. Perhaps a search of the history of the roselle hibiscus flower and it's use to make tea will pinpoint the origin.

I absolutely LOVED Cairo, and the parts of Egypt I saw. I did a Red Sea dive trip in 1992, and we bussed from Cairo to Sharm Al Shaikh (at the tip of the Sinai Peninsula) where we boarded the boat. Cairo was fascinating, crazy wonderful lunatic city. You could spend months in the antiquities museum. I only had one day but it was awesome, particularly the Tut room. On the bus trip from Cairo to Sharm you pass UNDER the Suez canal, driving between two continents (Africa to Asia). By the way, the diving in the Red Sea was spectacular too.

It is a Huli wigman from Papua New Guinea, another one of my favorite places in the whole world. Going there is like stepping back 10,000 years into the stone age. Beautiful, fascinating place.
