Hey....I love that truck rack! That be great p.r. for us landscapers to have in Sacramento. Its an eye catcher!

Yep

jrbaja - 7-12-2005 at 10:57 AM

The grove is one of the places we have been getting bamboo and replanting it in other areas as well as for projects.

The rack made 2 trips north and south loaded both ways before I discovered puleas.(Bamboomites) We also used it for fetching bamboo a number of times.

That rack was held together with deer and pig skin. The new one we used rawhide and sealed it for mites! Probably last forever and as far as a conversation piece, better than a Hummer! And yes, it is great publicity for San Bartolo Bamboo.

Vines?

Which picture are you referring to? It's more of a farm and bamboo park in San Bartolo. I have a ranch about 7 miles up in the hills above there but kinda hard to get to.

Nice photos jr. Question about the flower (the one you called "Flor"). Is that some type of a bamboo flower? Beautiful, whatever it is.

Flor de Savila

jrbaja - 7-12-2005 at 06:05 PM

The Aloe Vera flower. When we were clearing the property, I used to get bloody a lot. So I planted about 100 savilas strategically so wherever I ate chit, I could just cut a leaf and fix myself! I also have lomboy, siempre viva and a bunch of other medicinal plants growing around there.

Sharksbaja - 7-12-2005 at 06:14 PM

Very cool! And clever too! I saw your bamsink at another forum, impressive.

If you install a Bambench on each side of the pick-up...

Mexray - 7-12-2005 at 06:38 PM

...you'll have a real rural transporter for your help!

Nice looking stuff, that bamboo! Do you think it would catch on if you introduced it over in Asia?...:tumble:

I can remember traveling to Indonesia and Singapore and being amazed at how they tied the bamboo together to make scaffolds on the outside of high rise buildings...during construction! It was truly an amazing sight!

Keep up the good work! I think you've got a real winner!

Plant guavas... and bananas... for hikers and workers... fast growing and great fast food (Vitamin C in Guavas and Potassium in Bananas).

Yo tengo

jrbaja - 7-12-2005 at 09:37 PM

guayabas, platanos, mangos, toronjas, ciruelas, limon dulce, limas, mandarinas, naranjas, limones, papayas, and a little bamboo scattered here n there.

I've been trying to get those darn asians to listen to me since climbing the bamboo scaffolding in Manila and Brunei in the early 80's. Stubborn dudes, they just won't listen.
