Any of you horticulture types know if this is a variety of Ficus ?
I assume so but I'm only familiar with ficus nitida and ficus benjamina.
This looks to have a bit lighter bark and more rot volume compared to truck size than either of those. Maybe a climatilogical effect ??

That would be my quess too , Diver - that they are a variety of ficus.

I raise nitidas, benjaminas,macrophylias and rubiginosas and these fotos that JR posted definitely look like they're in that family. I just raise them for fun and don't know all that much about them but if I had to guess I'd say that the ones in baja are ficus moraceae

I was going to say that Yankeeirishman would probably know more but then I was thinking that they're probably not all too common in the Sac area due to the colder winters.

They are also called Higuera
