We arrived at the Baja Cactus Motel about 10:40pm on Friday night... We walked down the highway to where the main events, dance and carnival were
happening... Still going strong on this first day of the festival.
We had heard that the ceremony at the mission was wonderful... earlier that afternoon... and the story telling by the elders at La Bocana beach was
broadcast live to a San Quintin radio station.
Saturday morning we visited with Hugo at his Tacos la Mision, but wasn't cooking breakfast today. We had a great breakfast at 'Tacos de Guisado/ La
Carreta' run by Hector. It is on the right as you head out, a small burro cart is their landmark.
Running on Mexican time, we got back to Baja Cactus to meet up with anyone who wanted to join the caravan into the desert. Following us in my Tacoma,
were Nomads Bob H, Hook, Frigatebird, Baja Nomad, Santiago, TheSquarecircle, Surfer Jim, & Neal Johns.
Here we group up just off Highway One at the far side of the El Rosario river bridge. Front to back: Baja Nomad and Andrew, Surfer Jim, Figatebird and
Hook, Santiago.

Looks like a great day to go exploring...

My son was with Antonio at the fiesta after we retired and later on hitched a ride with local fishermen (around 5 am Sat.) with his boogie board,
backpack, fins... He was on his own adventure, and I will let him tell you how it went. As he was off doing his own thing and not with us for the
desert drive, it would be impossible to have a photo of him with us ... right?
