Sold Out

Baja Bernie - 10-4-2003 at 09:40 PM

Well folks,
We have done it! After 40 years in La Salina we have sold our home of 26 years. I know it is not a big deal to most of you but to me it was kinda like having an Azetc Priest chopping half of my heart out with a stone knife. And I didn't even get a whiff of pulgue to ease the pain.
Until I got this from a friend---"It looked like THE END, but now we see it is only the beginning of the next great chapter(and some other nice stuff) he ended with this--"A philosopher once said--At the end of the road an adventure begins!"
Live and grow is the thing to do.
No, we are not going away! We will just be wandering and looking more.
Saludos

I'm a little confused. Where will you be living now? Are you going to RV around? Good luck to you, wherever you land.

NEW BEGINNINGS

Capt. George - 10-5-2003 at 03:47 AM

BajaBernie,

Wander on over to Loreto, we've been looking forward to meeting you.

Life, a series of new roads, we can follow them where they lead us or hide in the dark...You don't seem like a hider!

Best of luck in all your NEW adventures.

Capt. George

Ditch that lawnmower and have some fun!

As soon as I get the last kid off to college or work, that's exactly what I'm gonna do. I'm tired of cleaning house but have a few years to go yet.

Your analogy about heart ripping sans pulque reminded me of a classic novel I read 25 years ago called Aztec. If you haven't read it yet, it's a fast and furious historically based pageturner with a couple of sex scenes that could put viagra out of business. Now that you can invest some of that mow-time in other pursuits..... -Stephanie

read J. Micheners "Mexico" for the

Don't worry, that was just a vacation/escape home for Bernie and Mary Lou. Their stateside home is not far from yours...

Thanks for the thoughts

Baja Bernie - 10-5-2003 at 12:58 PM

Thanks to all of you for the thoughts. David is correct we still have a roof over our heads in Santee, Ca.
Captain Mike, I agree about Mitchner I have every book he ever wrote and have enjoyed several of them more than once. Chesapeake is my favorite followed by Texas and Mexico. "Axtec " by Gary Jennings (ISBN 0-380-55889-0) is fantastic!
Read Victor Villasenor and believe that it is one of the very best on Mexicans leaving their homeland--very sad but uplifting at the same time. He still lives in Oceanside. Captain George thanks for the invite and we may just take you up on it after the new year.

AAAAAHHHHHH BAJA!

Capt. George - 10-5-2003 at 01:12 PM

Baja Bernie,

Michener, even the same order of preference, must have something to do with a Baja mind??

Take us up on the invite, we'll have a good time. See you in Loreto.

George
