Jose the Guard

Guess I am looking for undrstanding and solice on this one. Just got a phone call that my good friend JOSE died this morning after being taken to the Hospital in Ensenada. He was a Mexican guy who I had featured in my first book as Jose the Gardner because he had travelled all over the United States and had given to the United Way. In Tennessee, he took money out of his pocket to help the poor. When I asked him why! He repied, "Well you know they needed it." He was that kind of guy. We would talk for hours about his Country that he loved so much but he still realized that it had great problems facing it. Later, he became the head guard in camp and we argued a lot about the Indians. He felt that they were children and that they needed protection. Again, I talked about this in my second book.
When I told him that I had sold my home he asked if I would visit him.---And now I can't! The tears are flowing down my cheeks as I think of my friend. You should hope to meet one who is so proud and kind! Dead at 54 with so much knowledge gone about both country's.
Please prey for this wonderful man.

Jose!

When I reread this without the tears I noticed the prey--You all knew I meant PRAY!

I am so sorry about your friend. He is in a better place now. I did not know you wrote books/ Perhaps you could give me the titles of them. Thank you, Sharky

Captain Sharky,
I certainly try to write stuff. My first book was "Mi Baja No Hurry No Worry" My second one will, hopefully, be available before the first of the year and it is called, "Bouncing Around Baja." I have had a few articles published by the Gringo Gazette, see the September 25th edition for two of my articles--One on the SS Catalina dying in Ensenada Bay and the other one is the The Marvelous Maguey. I am also contributing to the 'Peoples Gallery' Newsletter in San Felipe.
Please see http://www.caballeropublishing.com for excerpts from my first book and information on ordering my book as well as The Grinning Garygole or Baja HaHa that I carry for Don Jimmy and Syliva Hoctor the widow of Fred. All proceeds from their books go to them.
Thank you very much for asking!
